+ Keep regional leaders informed and up-to-date on the safety processes for projects.

Perform internal safety audits and inspections on projects on a random basis. Instruct and train field workers in the recognition and avoidance of unsafe conditions to eliminate hazards.

Work with state and federal agencies on inspections and issues identified, if any, to minimize the future impact on AP.

Acknowledge and recognize “safe” behaviors in a public manner to foster repetition and copying of those behaviors.

In coordination with leadership, oversee the worker’s compensation program.

+ Participate in quarterly claims reviews.

Investigate accidents.

Monitor the return-to-work process for injured team members to minimize the impact of an injured team member returning to a jobsite.

Identify light duty and other work that injured team members can perform.

Collaborate and assist other departments to reduce and eliminate risk.

+ Edit and keep the SDS reference books and Superintendent’s Health and Safety Manuals current. (The SDS process is a jobsite responsibility. The Health and Safety Manual is a corporate document and changes must be authorized by the National Safety Committee.)

Anticipate project safety needs and assist the Superintendent/Project Manager with required safety training. Monitor site safety communications to maintain training effectiveness (signage, toolbox meetings, etc.).

Assure that adequate, properly trained team members are available to carry out the required functions safely on a project.

Other duties as assigned.
