Technology Support Specialist

The Holliston Public School District has an opportunity for a Technology Support Specialist whose role is to support of our students, staff and administration in their use of all information technology resources. You will provides technical support services in wired and wireless environments with devices running Windows operating systems, Chromebooks, iPads, and printers. This position works independently as well as collaboratively with the Technology Team to maintain and troubleshoot hardware, software and audio-visual equipment.
Responsibilities:
Provide daily support for technology in the school
Communicate promptly and resolve support requests efficiently
Prioritize support requests based on impacts to end-users and and in alignment with school-wide goals
Maintain comprehensive technology inventory for school(s), including all instructional and administrative technology applications
Troubleshoot and repair devices such as desktops, laptops, Chromebooks, iPads, LCD projectors, printers, copiers, audio and lighting systems
Collaborate with the Network Team to resolve firewall, server, switch, and wifi issues
Work with technology vendors for purchasing and support of hardware, software and networking, in consultation with the Director of Technology, school administration, and other members of the technology department
Maintain and support system level software on wifi, servers, and network hardware.
Collaborate with Technology Integration Specialist(s) to develop resources, support, and train users
Provide input on strategic planning for building-based and district-wide technology
Maintain open communication with the building administration to review priorities and ensure user satisfaction
Perform any other responsibility as may be assigned by the Director of Technology
Qualifications:
Minimum of at least three-years of successful experience providing technology support for hardware, peripherals and applications through installations, upgrades repairs, and problem resolution in an educational environment (preferred).
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work independently and efficiently, as well as work in a team
Flexibility in an ever changing work environment
Strong work ethic and able to work independently
Strong organizational, time management skills
Proven ability to work with minimum supervision
Be able to lift at least 25 pounds
Familiarity with the following is preferred (but not required):
Active Directory, Enterprise wifi, Enterprise Antivirus, GSuite for Education, Student Information Systems, Apple School Manager, Classroom educational technology, Chromebooks, iPads, Laptops, Basic networking concepts (TCP/IP protocol and WAN environments)
Reports to the Director of Technology and Digital Learning
Work Year:12 Months
Public School employees of Massachusetts are required to submit their fingerprints to a National Criminal Database check. The check will require you to pay a fee of $55 if you hold an Educator's License, or $35 if you are an unlicensed employee. In addition to the national background check, a satifsfactory Massachusetts Criminal Record Check (CORI) is required.
