About the Role
The Chief Audit Officer is a pivotal leadership role with a primary focus on developing and leading the internal audit function. This includes planning and conducting a range of audits to assess the effectiveness of internal controls and organizational risk, ensuring alignment with industry best practices, and providing value-added analysis on internal controls, business operations, and risk management. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting the vision and strategy for internal audit, leading the Enterprise Risk Management Committee, and maintaining a world-class internal control environment. They will also be expected to communicate audit findings and recommendations to the Executive Leadership Team and the Board's Finance, Compliance, and Audit Committee.Applicants for the Chief Audit Officer position must have a Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, finance, or a related field, and hold one or more relevant certifications such as Certified Internal Auditor, Certified Public Accountant, or Certified Information System Auditor. A minimum of 15 years' of experience in business or finance, with at least 8 years' in the industry or healthcare sector, and 10 years' of leadership or people management experience are required. The role demands a candidate with the ability to deliver assessments and advice to executive leadership and the Board, a broad strategic mindset, and the capability to build and develop a high-performing team. Preferred qualifications include PBM experience, an MBA or advanced degree in finance, and additional certifications such as CPA, CTP, or CFA.
