Job Description

This is an Oracle DBA role that works closely with the Application Management and Development teams to assessdatabase performance and suggests opportunities for improvement. We are looking to fill a need to have a highlycompetent and highly motivated individual in this role. The primary responsibility of this role is to investigate sub-optimallyperforming environments and either take action to resolve and/or provide suggestions to Development teams on areasto pursue. Individual will review database related alerts, AWRs, ADDMs, and escalations to come up with solutions torecurring problems. This is a Senior-level position requiring excellent technical skills as well as excellent Soft Skills. Theability to professionally communicate with leadership and peers is just as important as the technical skills required in thisrole. The ability to multi-task with excellent Time Management is a core requirement. Accountability and being proactiveare keys to operational excellence and the same will be expected from the successful candidate. Resource needs a solidunderstanding of other inter-related database, storage, operating system, networking, and other technologies commonlyfound in the architecture of larger enterprise class environments.

Responsibilities

Troubleshooting and resolving database performance problems

Performance Tuning and Optimization using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools

Implementing operational automation using scripts

Oracle query performance tuning, sql coding best practices, advanced oracle concepts, optimization and supportability.

Adherence to ITIL processes

Communication with client leads development teams systems administrators and other related service providers

Proactive database monitoring in support of metrics, issue avoidance, and issue resolution

Work independently with very limited supervision

Work with cross-functional project teams to resolve technical performance issues/bottlenecks (e.g., network, storage,

application).

Work with different staff levels, within and out of core competency.

QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE):

Bachelors or Master’s Degree in computer science, information systems, or business administration

Oracle DBA with 6+ years of experience and technical certification is mandatory

Exposure and hands-on Performance tuning of instance and application.

Experience and hands-on shell scripting.

Experience with Oracle WebLogic, RMAN Backups and Restore, OEM

Good understanding of Architecture and infrastructure.

Should have knowledge of ITSM / ITIL processes.

Strong experience in a Production Operations environment as well as Development Support

Proficient with OEM/SQL Advisor/ADDM/AWR

Knowledge of 19c, 21c and higher features

Experience with DataGuard/Active DataGuard/DataGuard Broker design and implementation

Knowledge of Exadata

Knowledge of backups, restores and recovery models

Knowledge of partitioning of large tables

Knowledge of indexes, index management, and statistics

Excellent Time Management skills are a must

US: Hiring Range: from $94,200 to $223,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
