As an entry level electric or software engineer position, our ideal candidate is someone who with a strong desire to learn and grow with our team in the **Portland, Oregon** area. This global development center develops materials handling solutions for the present and future. This role works in coordination with other development teams, to deliver electrical and software solutions for new and current products.
**We are looking for energetic and positive engineers to join our team as we take materials handling design to the next level.**
**Software Engineers**
**Minimum Qualifications:**
+ BS in software engineering, computer engineering, electrical engineering with software emphasis, or computer science with **_focus on embedded systems_**
+ C/C++ programming language experience
+ Desire to embed control software within forklift products
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Experience in material handling, automotive or similar industries
+ Proficiency with Simulink model-based development
+ Awareness of data communications (e.g. J1939, CAN)
+ Familiar with agile software development practices
+ Exposure to configuration management tools such as Git or Subversion
+ Exposure **_to interfacing with embedded devices_**
+ Understanding Embedded software and Operating System concepts
**Electrical Engineers**
+ B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering or related STEM degree
+ Basic knowledge and proficiency in drafting practices, CAD, design layouts and engineering analysis
+ Basic knowledge and proficiency in electrical components, circuits, control theory, electric motor drive theory, power electronics and inversion, and battery management systems.
+ Awareness of real time control networks for controlling vehicle/automotive type machines for the global marketplace.
+ Basic knowledge in control system design and architectures including both electronic hardware and software of embedded systems
**Essential Qualities for Electrical and Software Engineers**
+ Highly organized
+ Functions well in a team environment by working well with other employees and other departments.
+ Ability and willingness to operate industrial equipment (e.g. Fork Truck)
+ Driven to see tasks through to completion
+ Innovative thinking, troubleshooting and problem solving.
+ Ability to follow established procedures.
+ Attentive to details to ensure accuracy in design and documentation.
+ Exhibits good judgment and a realistic understanding of issues.
+ Occasional travel may be required (less than 10% total time).
