Overview
Job Summary
The Director Enterprise Strategic Services will provide leadership and direction to strategy formulation, strategic initiatives, critical analysis, and core capabilities driving the development and execution of enterprise strategic roadmaps. Will focus on high risk, high impact initiatives and works directly with executives, shared service stakeholders, service line leaders, and other leaders, advances those initiatives through the application of expert analytics and insights or management principles. Will lead initiatives within the Strategy department to elevate the team’s knowledge and performance inprojects critical to strategic, operational, and financial results. Will synthesize the work ofothers on the team, creates and delivers clear and concise analyses and intelligence tolead system-level strategic decision making.
Essential Functions
Serves as an objective and knowledgeable strategic advisor and thought partner to enterprise, service line and regional executives.
Leads a complex, highly skilled team and/or portfolio of team or projects and works under pressure in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines.
Leads, manages, prioritizes, and executes multiple, concurrent projects independently and maintains appropriate confidentiality information.
Builds, in collaboration with key stakeholders, Strategy programs (e.g. strategic planning, environmental assessment, strategy management) including associated processes, structures and tools and communicates and deploys these capabilities.
Drives the discussion with clients and other project team members, identifies and develops the business requirement, scope, and executes complex projects.
Analyzes qualitative and quantitative data and applies advanced knowledge to create value-added insights and durable solutions in support of the current and future business needs.
Provides clear and concise written and verbal summaries of findings and methods in preparation for deliverables.
Prepares and presents compelling deliverables to influence the strategic decision-making.
Leads Strategy departmental initiatives as a member of the leadership team.
Demonstrates excellent interprofessional communication following the organization’s Culture Commitments.
Understands and educates others on the strategy management process and tools as well as the healthcare industry and market drivers.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
Prior experience with a healthcare consulting firm, large complex health system, academic health system preferred
6 years of experience in a healthcare setting required; 2 years leadership experience required.
Demonstrated executive presence among other leaders and executives required. Must be able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines.
Demonstrated expertise in an analytic domain critical to ESP required.
Experience with Microsoft Office suite of tools is required.
Physical Requirements
Primarily works from home / remotely, but has access to and may be required to workin an office environment, sitting at a desk, working with a computer, talking onthe telephone and +preparing reports and other statistical data. In addition, time is spent in virtual and in person meetings at a variety of facilities. This may include participating in committee or working sessions, facilitating meetings or events, and making presentation and offering strategic guidance to System executives. Occasionally requires standing, walking and traveling in personal car to other facilities. Occasionally requires carries up to 20 pounds of materials (files, projectors, laptops). Works rapidly and accurately under pressure, to work in a safe and effective manner, and to handle different issues and priorities simultaneously.
