Information Technology Help Desk Administrator

Job Description

Salary Range: $70,000 + bonus potential Work Arrangement: Full-time onsite during the initial onboarding period (approximately 90 days). Flexibility for a hybrid schedule may be available prior to the planned office relocation to Chicago in Summer 2027. Following the move, this position is expected to be onsite five days per week. Position Overview Seeking a hands-on IT Help Desk Administrator to serve as a key resource for employee technology support across multiple locations. This individual will be responsible for resolving day-to-day technical issues, supporting end-user devices, maintaining equipment inventories, and assisting with workstation deployments. The ideal candidate combines strong technical aptitude with a customer-first mindset and enjoys partnering with employees to ensure a seamless technology experience. This role contributes directly to maintaining reliable systems and a productive work environment. Primary Responsibilities Deliver front-line IT support for employees, addressing issues related to workstations, software applications, mobile devices, and business technologies. Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve technical problems involving hardware, operating systems, applications, and network connectivity. Provide high-touch support for executive leadership and other critical stakeholders. Deploy, configure, upgrade, and replace desktop and laptop systems as needed. Support Apple mobile technologies including iPhones and iPads. Assist with employee onboarding and offboarding processes, including device provisioning and access setup. Maintain and troubleshoot conference room and collaboration technologies, including audiovisual equipment and video conferencing solutions. Install and support approved software applications and peripheral devices. Monitor and maintain IT asset inventory records, ensuring accurate tracking of equipment and licenses. Record support activities, issue resolutions, and technical procedures within service management tools. Escalate complex or recurring issues to appropriate technical teams when required. Communicate effectively with users of varying technical backgrounds. Recommend process improvements and proactive solutions to reduce recurring support requests. Participate in departmental projects, technology rollouts, and other initiatives as assigned. Qualifications Required Experience & Skills Three or more years of experience in an IT Help Desk, Desktop Support, End User Support, or similar technical support environment. Experience supporting Microsoft Windows operating systems and Microsoft 365 applications. Knowledge of mobile device support, including iOS and iPadOS platforms. Familiarity with Active Directory, endpoint management tools, and remote support technologies. Experience with device imaging, software deployment, workstation setup, and hardware diagnostics. Strong problem-solving abilities with exposure to desktop, networking, and endpoint technologies. Ability to independently install, configure, and troubleshoot hardware and software systems. Proven ability to work effectively with both technical teams and business users. Strong verbal and written communication skills with a commitment to excellent customer service. Education & Certifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline is preferred. Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft Endpoint Administrator, ITIL, or related credentials are considered a plus.
