OVERVIEW

Agenda for Children seeks a highly organized and dynamic facilitator to be theManager, Program Observations & Accountability Content . The ideal candidate will have experience in early childhood and in developing and delivering relevant professional development content, both virtually as well as in engaging and interactive in-person training workshops. This position will report to the Assistant Director, Program Quality and Improvement and will work collaboratively with multiple colleagues across Agenda’s Center for Early Childhood Advancement (CECA) and the New Orleans Early Education Network (NOEEN) CLASS team

The Manager, Program Observations & Accountability Content creates, reviews, revises, and delivers relevant, dynamic, and appropriate content on multiple areas of focus in early care and education, with a particular focus on delivering professional development learning opportunities on Teachstone’s Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS) to early care and education teachers, program leaders, Pre-K-12 school administrators, Agenda for Children staff and partners, using both in-person and virtual platforms. TheManager, Program Observations & Accountability Content and the Assistant Director, Program Quality & Improvement work in close partnership with Agenda’s CLASS Program Manager to administer all facets of the CLASS observation program to meet accountability measures required by the LDOE while providing robust, differentiated, and intentional professional development around the CLASS tools being used in the New Orleans Network. Additionally, the Manager is responsible for providing fee-based professional development for programs, including school-based programs, that can include facilitation of Professional Development Workshops, Professional Learning Communities, Communities of Practice, and Coaching.

This is a full-time position including office hours of 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, with regular Saturday commitments. This position requires both in-person and virtual facilitation responsibilities.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibilities for this position will include, but not be limited to the following:

Assist the Assistant Director, of Program Quality and Improvement in planning and delivering CLASS-focused professional development; With the professional development team, actively participate in planning, assessment, and ongoing improvement efforts for the department;

Facilitate communities of practice with program teachers and leaders to support their understanding of the CLASS tool and developmentally appropriate practice;

Maintain appropriate documentation as required for professional development activities;

Review and revise existing professional development content and workshop activities to ensure all are accurate, current, engaging, and include best practices with particular focus on CLASS content; Apply principles of adult learning to professional development

Create new early care and education content and materials related to professional development on CLASS, developmentally appropriate practice, teacher-child interactions, language development, etc.; Apply principles of adult learning to professional development activities;

With the Assistant director’s guidance, develop priorities for content creation based on performance data and provider feedback

Maintain appropriate knowledge and skills to support effective

facilitation of professional development workshops on various early childhood topics including CLASS;

Train for and obtain certification as a CLASS Affiliate Trainer and CLASS Group Coach;

Obtain and maintain certifications in CLASS, TS GOLD, Louisiana Pathways, and others, as required;

Conduct CLASS Observations for the NOEEN Network as needed;

Assist the Assistant Director, Program Quality and Improvement in reviewing analyzing, applying, and sharing CLASS data Use this information in planning content development and delivery

With the professional development team, actively participate in planning, assessment, and ongoing improvement efforts for the department;

Other duties as assigned/required/needed.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field (an unrelated undergraduate degree with significant documented training and experience in early education is acceptable)

Three years of early childhood classroom experience. Coaching or teacher mentorship experience can be substituted for up to 2 years of classroom experience

Experience with CLASS Accountability tools.

Demonstrated success working with adult learners and eagerness to develop skills in adult learners.

Proficiency with common office software, Google products, Zoom, and online learning tools

Experience and interest in presenting and facilitating engaging workshops, both virtually and in-person (preferred)

Early childhood leadership experience (mentor, administrator, teacher leader, etc.) (preferred)
