The Boeing Company is currently seeking an Engineering Manager to join a dynamicteam of engineers in the Visual Systems organization within Government Training Engineering. Come be a part of the team that develops, designs, builds and test the most advanced, cutting-edge flight simulators in the world. Work with an incredible team that’s incorporating the latest technology in the fields of computing, graphics rendering, visual displays and mixed reality experiences and scenario generation. You’ll be a leader of a team working to develop the most advanced flight simulators that are used by our government customers around the world to train the highly skilled aircrew that fly the most advanced military aircraft.

This opportunity steps into the future of developing and innovating visual displays for vital training devices and will be challenging, complex, and fast-paced. The selected individual may interact regularly with pilots, test and operational squadrons, and the user community of the fighter and military aircrafts. You’ll manage a team of skilled systems engineering working development and sustainment activity of our various display systems products and offerings. Work with program management, leadership, subject matter experts, engineering teams, and test engineers throughout the entire development, fielding and operational lifecycle of the display system.

This person will be responsible for leading a team of engineers that follow an agile methodology to plan, implement and deliver Visual System Solutions to the external customer. This person will work closely with peers to maintain a cohesive engineering team with a shared vision. This person will support the Visual System Agile Release Train with a shared vision of common architecture, tools and processes and will be a sponsor of various community of practices. The Visuals System organization also has a R&D portfolio for new and emerging imaging display technologies which you will help oversee.

Position Responsibilities

Manages a team of engineers to develop, test, maintain and improve visual systems

Develops and executes integrated departmental plans, policies and procedures.

Provides input on departmental business and technical strategies, goals, objectives.

Acquires resources for department activities, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements.

Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.

Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.

Manages, develops and motivates employees.

Provides periodic updates to senior management in the form of progress reports, project summaries, and other related documents.

Must foster an innovative work environment leading to identification of opportunities for improvements in product, process, quality, and productivity.

Security Clearance:

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience) :

Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry

3+ years of experience leading engineering teams

1+ years of experience developing costs, schedules, and performance standards

Typical Education & Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Relocation

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

100% Onsite:

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location. (St. Louis, MO.)

Summary pay range: 137,700 – 186,300
