MP Materials is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Industrial Electrician to be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining electrical and manufacturing equipment for a new Magnetics business unit in Fort Worth, TX. This business unit will manufacture the rare earth alloys and magnets required to secure the future of US electrification, and the Fort Worth site will perform a mix of chemical, electrical, mechanical, thermal, and machining processes that each have their own unique controls and electrical equipment. The Electrician will report to the Facilities & Maintenance Manager and will work with the Operations, Engineering, Construction, and Technology teams to install, maintain, and monitor industrial manufacturing equipment and supporting facilities infrastructure. The facility equipment includes high temperature AC and DC heating systems, vacuum induction furnaces, mills, presses, vacuum and atmospheric furnaces, CNC equipment, wet chemical processes, and precision inspection and laboratory equipment. The successful candidate will be a Electrician who has experience across industrial electrical systems including VFD’s, power distribution, facility back-up power systems, transformers, motors, pumps, controllers, HVAC equipment, etc. This is a rare opportunity to have an early role within a greenfield, advanced manufacturing facility that is helping to define the future of American manufacturing.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Install Dedicated and Branch circuits for electrical equipment such as control circuits, wires, cables, breakers to ensure proper electrical functions.

• Install timer switches contactors for lighting system upgrades such as control circuits and fixtures to ensure proper electrical functions.

• Repair electric lights, transformers, switchboards, and other electrical apparatus for proper function.

• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electronic components of manufacturing process equipment.

• Test electrical/electronic wiring, equipment, systems, or fixtures.

• Perform ground checks.

• Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, and maintain switch gear, transformers, power monitoring, and electrical distribution systems.

• Troubleshoot electrical problems in Automatic Transfer Switch Controls, power distribution circuits, lighting control and control circuits for maintenance and proper function.

• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair fire protection system electrical components.

• Follow all aspects of maintenance safety protocol (LOTOTO, Arc Flash, etc.).

• Work closely with EHS to ensure that all work is done to ensure world class health and safety, and full compliance with relevant environmental regulations.

• Other duties, as assigned.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• Completion of an approved Certified Industrial Electrician Program and hold active Master Electrician licensing requirements for the state of Texas.

• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in Industrial Electrical-Instrumentation repair and maintenance.

• Strong electrical control troubleshooting experience, including the ability to read electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and P&IDs.

• Knowledge of uninterruptable power sources, natural gas generators, electrical switchgear, power distribution units, variable frequency drives, and automatic/static transfer switches.

• Knowledge of building codes and regulations including Life Safety, IBC, NFPA, NEC, and OSHA.

• Sound knowledge of process safety, including understanding proper use of electrical PPE (insulated tools, properly rated insulated gloves, hot sticks, FR clothing, etc.).

• Entrepreneurial mindset, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple concurrent projects.

DESIRED QUALITIES:

• 5+ years Electrical/Instrumentation within a manufacturing environment in metals, semiconductor, or chemicals industries.

• Experience with medium and high voltage equipment.

• Knowledge of arc flash hazards.

• Ability to identify and solve problems, and effectively communicate and advocate for these solutions to others (from operators to management).
