Job Description Job Description The Personal Care Assistant (PCA) is responsible for providing personalized assistance to individuals in their homes or in assisted living facilities. This position requires a compassionate individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The (PCA) will help clients with basic day-to-day activities and work to ensure that the client’s physical and emotional needs are met
Personal Care Assistant Duties and Responsibilities Provide assistance with personal care activities, such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
Prepare meals, clean, and do laundry for clients
Assist in transferring clients from bed to wheelchair, etc.
Accompany clients to appointments, errands, and recreational activities
Document daily activities, changes in physical and mental condition, and any other relevant information
Ensure that the client’s living environment is safe and secure
Monitor vital signs and provide medication reminders
Provide emotional support to clients and their families
Personal Care Assistant Requirements and Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent
Previous experience in a caregiving role preferred
Current CPR and First Aid certification
Able to lift up to 50 pounds
Must be organized and able to multitask
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Able to work independently with minimal supervision
