Maintenance Technician

Job Description

Career Opportunities: Maintenance Technician (1466) We are looking for a Preventative Maintenance Technician to support our flagship facility in Lexington, SC. This associate will support the day-to-day operations of our manufacturing by performing preventative maintenance on CNC and manual equipment. This includes following the manufacturer’s suggested maintenance schedule.

The incumbent will report to our Maintenance Supervisor and work with a team of maintenance personnel. He or she will also interact closely with Operations to identify machine concerns as they relate the Preventative Maintenance and Operator Preventative measures.

The Build (Responsibilities) Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM) on manufacturing equipment, machinery, and facility systems.

Follow established PM schedules, checklists, procedures, and manufacturer recommendations.

Inspect equipment for wear, damage, leaks, vibration, abnormal noise, and other signs of potential failure.

Lubricate, adjust, align, and replace components as required during preventative maintenance.

Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and other equipment issues.

Perform corrective maintenance and repairs identified during PM inspections.

Replace worn or damaged bearings, belts, chains, seals, motors, switches, sensors, and other components.

Perform basic electrical troubleshooting using meters and other diagnostic equipment.

Read and interpret equipment manuals, electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and maintenance documentation.

Maintain accurate records of completed PMs, repairs, parts used, and equipment conditions.

Enter maintenance activities and equipment history into the CMMS/SAP system.

Identify recurring equipment failures and recommend improvements to eliminate the root cause.

Assist with developing and improving preventative maintenance procedures and PM frequencies.

Work with production personnel to coordinate maintenance activities and minimize production interruptions.

Respond to equipment breakdowns and assist with emergency repairs when necessary.

Maintain an organized inventory of maintenance parts, supplies, and tools.

Assist with installation, relocation, setup, and startup of new or existing equipment.

Support continuous improvement, Lean Manufacturing, and reliability initiatives.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe maintenance work area.

Follow all company safety procedures, including lockout/tagout (LOTO), PPE, and machine safety requirements.

Perform other maintenance-related duties as assigned.

The Toolbox (Qualifications) High School diploma or GED equivalent is required

3+ years of related work experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred

Must take and follow direction from others with little to no supervision

Ability to effectively problem-solve through a systematic approach

Ability to work in a team setting and environment

Ability to use power and hand tools

Ability to lift, push or pull up to and including 40 lbs.

Ability to work different shift assignments, weekends, holidays and overtime as needed
