POSITION SUMMARY:

The Account Manager role is responsible for leading external efforts to identify business opportunities, product applications, and new customers within the assigned industry focus. The goal of this role is to pursue aggressive growth by developing a competitive market strategy, identify corporate opportunities, and establish key corporate accounts. Areas of focus may include government, high-purity, nuclear and fossil power generation, paper and pulp, oil production, petroleum, chemical processing and aerospace industries. As a Tri Tool Account Manager, you will identify new opportunities for our existing products as well as investigate new applications and engineered solutions to meet or exceed customer needs. Extensive travel to conduct customer visits to develop strong business relationships and be a technical conduit to engineering support are essential functions of this role. This individual will be the face of Tri Tool to the customer and the direct link to Tri Tool's internal organization which requires the capability to understand a customer's technical and business needs and effectively communicate with all stakeholders.

The Account Manager reports directly to the Head of Sales. This is a full-time, exempt position that may work from a home office or assigned facility.

TYPICAL DUTIES:

• Manages the development and tracking of key customer accounts with heavy focus on government or corporate accounts, responsible for cultivating accounts into long term relationships, customer satisfaction and for developing new business opportunities.

• Defines sales strategic goals, identifies sales opportunities, pipeline management, negotiates and closes business deals, and maintains extensive knowledge of current market conditions.

• Gather information on all competitors and prevalent industry and business climate within the territory; communicate information to management and others as needed.

• Meets with customers, often being required to make presentations on solutions and services that meet or predict customer's future needs. Must be able to communicate effectively and develop business relationships with customer's managers and C-Suite level employees.

• Promotes and performs demonstrations of product lines and system solutions to drive profitable growth and support department goals in achieving or exceeding the budget targets.

• Conduct regular quote follow-up calls to obtain status of order or negotiate the final terms of a sale. Prepare and maintain quote log, forecast, and market price feedback report.

• Works closely with inside sales team and other sales staff to provide exceptional customer service.

• Maintain organizational communication across departments and with internal customer services and other departments ensuring uniform information is relayed to the customers regarding pricing, availability of product, status of orders and other pertinent information.

• Partner with key client personnel and internal teammates (sales & marketing coordinators, engineering & service management staff and others) as required to exceed client expectations.

• Attend and participate in business/trade events and company sales meetings.

• Schedule or conduct equipment demonstrations as appropriate as effective equipment demonstration is crucial to successful promotion of our equipment and services.

• Prepare required reports including Close of Business, Sales Management Plan, Sales Forecasts Expense and Mileage. Submit complete and accurate reports within specified deadlines.

• Participate on strategic leadership teams as tasked to support continuous improvement initiatives to drive revenue through development of new markets, new/improved products & services & better processes.

• Follow company-wide safety practices and Job Safety Analysis when driving, visiting customers, plants and jobsites.

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• 3-5 years of territory management experience in related sales; industries listed above.

• Must be a self-starter with ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

• Proven sales and organizational accomplishments i.e. president's club or other sales or customer excellence awards.

• Proven experience in Collaborative Selling skills, including negotiating, creation of compelling presentations and demonstrations, and opening of new business relationships.

• Comprehensive knowledge of customer requirements, competitors and market vertical.

• Self-motivated and effective priority management skills, along with the ability to manage, organize and meet deadlines.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and demonstrated ability to make successful presentations to individuals and/or groups at all levels of an organization.

• Mechanical aptitude is required (Industry specific mechanical experience is ideal).

• Analytical and problem-solving skills related to your functional area, understanding impact of the overall business.

• Ability to read and understand a balance sheet and profit and loss statement and to understand how you can impact them with Tri Tool solutions.

• Ability to operate professionally and represent Tri Tool core values and behaviors.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point.

• Proficiency in Customer Relations Management applications/databases.

• Must be able to meet access requirements for government and nuclear energy sites.

• Must have a valid driver's license, clean driving record, and driver insurance.

• Must be willing to travel 50-75% overnight travel within territory with occasional overnight travel to corporate and international locations.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Working conditions for this position consist of various locations with differing environmental elements; office environment, traveling by car and/or plane, customer locations, and industrial job site locations.

Environmental factors such as noise level, temperature, and atmosphere will vary from mild to extreme in accordance with job site. Heavy travel by automobile and plane required to visit customer locations.

Duties may require interaction or work in an atmosphere that requires use of Personal Protective Equipment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to lift 50lbs infrequently during product demonstrations. Ability to drive and/or travel long distances to meet with customers. May occasionally visit the customer location and be exposed to possible hazards including high noise, heavy machinery and travel hazards. Frequent sitting and operating a computer or participating in meetings. Fast paced atmosphere with multiple priorities and constant change. Give frequent presentations that may require lengthy periods of standing. Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Must be able to safely operate vehicles, industrial equipment/tools and use office equipment such as computers, multi-line phones, scanners, copiers, and paper cutters.
