Director, Center for Young Children (Childcare Leader)
Indianapolis, IN, United States
Department CHILD CARE CENTER (IN-CHCR-IUINA)
Department Information The IUPUI Center for Young Children (CYC), located on campus in downtown Indianapolis, provides childcare and early childhood education for the University and Indianapolis communities. We believe children learn through play, hands-on activities, experiences and interaction with their environment. In fact, research has shown that all children are innately curious and eager to explore the world around them. At CYC, we provide a setting in which children can wonder, solve, learn and grow and we strive to amplify the potential of all children within our care through the guidance and encouragement of experienced and professional teachers. The overall objective of our curriculum design is to promote independence, self-esteem, confidence, and critical thinking skills providing the foundations for continued intellectual and academic growth. This has been our mission and purpose since 1979. Though we have evolved since then, we remain resolute in our mission to provide the best care and early childhood education for IUPUI and the Indianapolis community
IUPUI Center for Young Children partners with families to provide a nurturing, play-based learning environment that fosters social, emotional, physical, cognitive and language development. The Center strives to be the standard for quality center-based childcare.
We are committed to being a welcoming campus community that reflects and enacts the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion. We seek candidates who seek to understand different perspectives and cultures, who can actively contribute to a work climate where differences are valued and supported, and who are sensitive to cultural norms, expectations, and ways of communicating. We hope to identify individuals who can assist us in dismantling racism and other oppressions so that everyone can succeed at IUPUI.
