This position reports to reports to the Supervisor of Environment of Care & Safety
Inspects work areas and equipment to ensure compliance with company, state, and federal safety policies and regulations.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for documenting safety inspections, citing dangerous areas/procedures and recommending corrective procedures, and maintaining safety equipment supply and availability for all hospital facilities.
Monitors work practices and procedures for compliance with health and safety requirements. Recommends corrective action.
Assures that the occupational safety health, environmental management (may include emergency management) needs of the organization are properly assessed and effectively addressed.
Ensures the scheduling and completion of fire drills as required by NFPA, the Joint Commission, and authorities having jurisdiction.
What you will need:
Required:
Knowledge of occupational safety and health and environmental compliance laws, regulations, and standards.
Minimum of three years' experience in the implementation of occupational safety and health and environmental compliance programs.
Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office
Preferred:
Bachelor's degree in the sciences biology, chemistry, physics, or engineering disciplines preferred.
Certified Healthcare Safety Professional (CHSP) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) preferred.
