Description

The Donor Experience Manager will serve as a key front-line fundraiser, advancing relationships with and increasing support from individuals who have the capacity to make a significant philanthropic investment in the Perot Museum of Nature and Science. The Donor Experience Manager will work strategically to manage their portfolio in order to acquire, retain, steward, and upgrade support for the Museum. This position will work Monday through Friday, with weekend, evening, and mornings as needed for various events and meetings.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Donor Experience Manager will drive Annual Giving support for the Museum by developing strategies to cultivate and steward new and existing relationships with donors at various levels of support ($2,500-$10,000). This role will be a front-line fundraiser, working alongside the Director of Annual Giving and the Development Team to deepen donor relationships with the Museum, and adheres to annual revenue goals and works towards opportunities and strategies to increase base of support.

Scope of work includes:

Provide support and work with the Director of Annual Giving on the retention and acquisition of donors by successfully engaging, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding a portfolio (150-175) of donors and prospects to meet $6M annual revenue goal.

Create annual goals and an engagement plan for each of the donors and prospects in portfolio based on organizational priorities, the individual's interests, history of giving, and other relevant criteria.

Establish and maintain strong relationships with current and potential donors through regular communication, personalized outreach, and donor-centered activities.

Position Responsibilities:

Develop a comprehensive and personalized moves management plan for portfolio, implementing industry best practices and strategies that expand the philanthropic reach of the Museum through unique experiences and engagement opportunities.

Develop, track and regularly report on meaningful metrics and milestones to ensure progress toward and attainment of fundraising targets.

Maintain accurate and complete records of donor communications, accurately recording donor notes and updates into the database in a timely manner and working with the Development Operations team as needed to ensure proper donor recognition.

With the Director of Annual Giving, develop and execute strategies to increase the donor pipeline, ensuring a continuous flow of prospects at various giving levels. Identify, qualify, and prioritize prospects through research, screening, and discovery meetings.

Collaborate with various departments to develop compelling funding proposals and accompanying informational materials for individual donors that support organizational priorities. This will require both a broad overview and a detailed understanding of the organization's programs and projects.

Help fine-tune content for donor communications such as newsletters, emails, invitations, and other marketing efforts.

Collaboration with Development, Volunteers, Community Outreach, Administration, Marketing, Programs, Events/Sales, Paleontology, Exhibits, Facilities, Guest Services and IT.

Demonstrate an attitude of openness and responsiveness to all donor (annual, major, membership, and volunteer) constituencies, to help all individuals have a positive and memorable experience with the Museum, with a view to renewing and upgrading their support over time.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Bachelors of Science, Bachelors of Business Administration or Bachelors of Arts.

3-5+ years of work experience in major gifts fundraising, sales, or a related field.

Proven success in cultivating and soliciting major gifts, with year-over-year success in retention and upgrades.

Exceptional written communication and ability to develop tailored materials created to address donor interest and perspectives.

Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team and engage effectively with high-profile donors.

Record of achieving goals and maintaining effective systems to manage multiple projects.

Proven experience with CRM databases preferred, including Salesforce.

Must be proficient in Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, and Power Point.

Must be a person who acts with integrity and is personally accountable for their results.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

The ability to effectively communicate with the staff and the public.

Ability to learn and adapt to various software and technology programs to complete work duties.

Self-motivated, organized, attentive to detail, and the ability to manage time and effectively function without close supervision.

Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, holidays and special events as needed.

Flexibility in outlook and ability to pivot quickly.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to relate well to constituents at all levels a must. Knowledge of the cultural and philanthropic landscape in the DFW Metroplex area is a plus.

Essential Functions:

While performing the duties of this position, the employee will be required regularly to:

Sit for extended periods of time while utilizing resource materials such as a computer and detailed spreadsheets.

Communicate by telephone; email other appropriate Perot Museum communication platforms (e.g., MS Teams, Zoom, etc.).

While performing the duties of this position, the employee will occasionally be required to:

Lift and/or move light boxes and other materials of 20 lbs. or less.
