About the Role
The Vice President, Healthcare Team will join a private investment firm, in their Philadelphia, PA office. The firm focuses on lower middle market investments in technology and healthcare businesses. The firm has more than $5B raised across six funds.
Our client is expanding its Healthcare Investment Team as they continue to grow; they are looking to hire a Vice President . In this role you will be a key part of our team of investment professionals who help to grow and manage the healthcare portfolio.
Accountabilities
This individual will be an integral member of the healthcare deal team. Key responsibilities include:
Play a lead role in originating, evaluating and closing new investments
Identify and execute research-driven investment theses
Demonstrated ability to understand the financial and strategic drivers of businesses
Insightfully and efficiently evaluate opportunities against the firm's investment criteria
Lead role quarterbacking diligence and managing third-party diligence vendors
Communicate effectively to internal and external parties
Manage day to day team activities and mentor Analysts and Associates; be viewed as a leader by subordinates and peers
Develop positive relationships with management teams to further reinforce and differentiate the firm as a value-added partner
Skills and Requirements
The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter and team player who can function in an entrepreneurial atmosphere with minimal supervision. Strong analytical background including both finance and accounting skills, excellent communication skills and a high level of maturity are essential. Qualified candidates should also possess the following:
6+ years of directly relevant private equity and investment experience and or corporate/business development within a healthcare organization
Undergraduate degree from a top-tier university with exceptional academic achievement
Mature, professional candidate who is a self-starter willing to accept a large amount of responsibility
Strong work ethic, positive attitude and enthusiasm for the role
Direct experience originating new investment opportunities
Healthcare experience required
Experience managing junior team members
Geographic flexibility, preferred location on the east coast
