About the Role

We seek a seasoned, proactive, and self-assured individual to spearhead our Cheil Dallas New Business Team. As the Director of Business Development, your role entails driving, strategizing, and overseeing efforts to acquire new business opportunities, extending beyond existing clients and encompassing agency marketing initiatives. This role is based in Plano, Texas

Develop an annual plan for prospecting and new business building efforts that achieves annual agency goals.

Develop and lead the execution of an agency marketing plan including website, agency social, industry speaking engagements, organization memberships, awards and more

Own strategic and day-to-day management of all new business projects (search consultant programming and prospecting efforts).

Develop, write and execute creative and informative RFI/RFP presentations that highlight capabilities, resources and outlook.

Manage research of new business prospect brands and clients - lead ABM paid campaign efforts.

Work collaboratively across the affiliate network - driving opportunities with multiple agencies when needed.

Track, monitor, and report on actual business development performance against plan.

Be a key part of the presentation team at new client meetings.

Conceptualize and develop new business marketing materials and related collateral to support overall marketing efforts.

Work with PR & Communications partner to develop a 'go-to-market strategy' for business and industry press, and to highlight significant agency resources.

Oversee logistics to guarantee seamless coordination and execution of all tasks from inception to completion (e.g., arranging team meetings, facilitating brainstorming sessions, drafting creative briefs, conducting reviews, and preparing necessary presentation materials).Maintain knowledge of current events within our industry including market trends and emerging competitors.

Manage and grow the new business contact database.

Maintain knowledge of talent and core capabilities within the agency, becoming fluent in building teams based on RFP ask.

Manage a direct team of 2-3, leading with focus to achieve the above responsibilities of the role

About the requirements Bachelor's degree in business management, marketing, and other communications fields preferred.

10+ years' business development experience in a digital or integrated communications agency environment with a focus on creative, strategy & media.

A proven track record for new revenue and new business opportunities.

B2C, Experiential, Performance Marketing, Media experience desired, expertise across all is not expected.

Ideally brings to the table existing intermediary/search consultant relationships.

Brings existing industry press relationships.

Demonstrated skills in dynamic leadership, team building, and team management

An understanding of the market landscape in the US - big players, industry bodies, key events, biggest influencers, agency competitors. Local/regional market experienced highly desired.

Demonstrated ability to operate successfully in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with high energy and vibrancy.

Proven ability to analyze, develop, sell-in, and manage business strategies, plans and business cases.

Strong presentation and senior client-facing skills.

Extreme sensitivity to and respect for working in confidentiality.

Reports to: Executive Director, Cheil Dallas

Partners with: MDs/CEOs & US Leadership team

Locations: Supporting across North America, based at the Cheil Dallas office

Direct reports: 2-3
