Job Description:
The BIM Modeler II will be responsible for leading modeling efforts for both project delivery and standards development. As a member of the production team, the role will involve creating a majority of the drawings for projects and may function as a Lead Modeler. The day-to-day will involve efficiently modeling and documenting projects while leading a team of support modelers to meet deliverables. This key role will have a direct impact on project success and client satisfaction.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Work with the Lead Modeler in developing Revit Families for standards or specific projects
Efficiently model and document projects adhering to company standards
Perform layout and input of mark-ups into Revit models
Lead modeling efforts on projects, overseeing support modelers
Set up Revit views for use by project teams
Manage electronic document filing and archiving
Back-check work for accuracy before handoff
Download drawings and information from web/SharePoint sites
Acknowledge and comply with confidentiality and intellectual property requirements
Required Experience/Skills:
Proficiency in current modeling software like Revit for creating families, views, etc.
Ability to take direction and convert it into technical design documents
Fluency in Navisworks, Design Review, 3D layout and design
Experience with Revit work sets and work sharing process
Understanding of 3D coordination across trades
Excellent proofreading and attention to detail
Skilled at file sharing, posting documents to websites/FTP
Proficiency with plotters, printers and reproduction systems
Ability to import various file types into Revit
Fluency in current version of Revit
Spatial skills for working in 2D and 3D spaces
Ability to read 2D plans electronically or hardcopy
Preferred skills in parametric family creation, shared parameters, scheduling
Nice-to-Haves:
Interest/passion for the construction/electrical industry
Experience with Oracle systems
Ability to create complex geometry in modeling software
Education: Associates degree in Computerized Drafting field preferred
Pay & Benefits Summary:
Salary range: $27 - $40 per hour
