The role The US-based automation engineer will automate production processes using MIRAI, Micropsi Industries’ cutting-edge, vision-based, AI-powered robot control system for industrial robots. The chosen candidate will evaluate projects for renowned end-customers and collaborate with our distributor network in the development of specific components, strategies, and robot programs to achieve robust execution, meeting the specified cycle time and quality. As part of an international team of automation engineers, you will be at the intersection of robotics, vision, machine learning, programming, and mechanical engineering. Moreover, you will have the chance to prove your creativity and perseverance while tackling complex automation problems and gaining deep insights into our technology and its utility in industrial applications.
Headquartered in Berlin, Micropsi Industries is currently expanding our US team in San Francisco. To be successful at this job, you must be organized, structured, and ready to rethink traditional automation concepts. A good sense for spatial problems in robotics and automation greatly helps as well as excellent communication skills to exchange with experts from various fields.
Responsibilities Own and orchestrate evaluation and integration projects for high-value customers.
Develop MIRAI-based automation concepts to solve complex problems with high requirements for robustness and cycle time (e.g., cable insertion, object tracking, and screw driving).
Collaborate with experts from various fields, not least customers, integrators, and members of our sales and development teams.
Carry out hardware setup, MIRAI skill training, and robot program development on customer sites.
Apply our machine learning technology and its underlying principles to industrial tasks to estimate feasibility and effort for future automation projects.
Train customers to use MIRAI to solve their automation problems by themselves.

Proven record of being an organized, structured person who quickly recognizes the moment for action, even breaking with traditional approaches if your arguments support that.
Ability to communicate difficult subjects clearly and respectfully and to show ownership and persistence when facing challenges.
Willingness to travel
Nice-to-Haves Knowledge of 3D Design/CAD software
Practical work experience (2+ years) in production automation with industrial and collaborative robots (Universal Robots, Fanuc, ABB, Kuka).
Good knowledge of programming, at least one robot programming language.
Experience integrating full robotic solutions into manufacturing facilities.
Knowledge and experience with KAREL programming language on Fanuc Robots.
