Position Summary:

Leads Product Development for the design, development, and release of new vehicle Application products to manufacturing. Interfaces with cross-functional teams, directly interacting with the customer in order to achieve project goals. Responsible for the product performance, schedule, and financial success of assigned projects.

Position Responsibilities:

Manage design and application work for five to ten projects concurrently.

Run projects with limited oversight from management.

Some interaction with internal/external customers; however, critical communication is reviewed with senior engineers or the management team before release.

Evaluate Application specific requirements and needs, leverage historical data.

Organize the project timeline and action items which may include a cross-functional design, test, NPI, quality, and manufacturing teams.

Oversee fabrication of prototypes, evaluate product fitment and support vehicle calibration.

Support design and testing, which may include field testing and operation of vehicles.

Create and maintain 3d models, 2d drawings, BOM’s and ECN documentation.

Track the project to the target and reports to management at key milestones.

Focuses on the needs of the customer and project profitability requirements of the company.

Specific Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required:

Mechanical Engineering Design knowledge

Creo/3D modeling or similar CAD design software

Time management and prioritization abilities

Critical thinking and problem solving skills

Microsoft Office
