Alleyton Resource is seeking a qualified Ready Mix Concrete Driver in the following locations:

Waller, TX

Angleton, TX

Pinehurst, TX

**Job purpose**

The position of Ready Mix Truck Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a ready mix truck used for the delivery of ready-mix concrete and other associated products to construction sites while maintaining a safety first attitude. This position requires management resources in adherence with all company standards, policies and procedures, as well as compliance with all federal and state regulations, including OSHA, MSHA, TCEQ etc.

**Duties and responsibilities**

**Delivery of Ready-Mix Concrete:**

* Fills water tank, checks slump of load and cleans excess material from truck.

* Safely drives loaded truck to destination on delivery ticket.

* Ensures all delivery tickets are signed and returned to the plant.

* Upon arrival, inspects job sites, works with customers to obtain adequate vehicle access and unloads material.

* Communicates truck status with Dispatch by use of two way radio and encoders.

* Rinses chutes and rear of truck free of spilled concrete (re-hangs extension chutes as necessary).

* Returns to same yard or other yard as instructed by dispatch and receives new instructions.

* Maintain good customer relations. Act in a professional, courteous manner.

* Maintain a professional appearance.

* Assists in training of co-workers as needed.

**Vehicle Maintenance:**

* Performs pre-trip vehicle safety inspections and reports vehicle condition at the beginning and the end of each shift.

* Checks all vehicle fluid levels daily and adds fluids as necessary.

* Fuels vehicle as necessary.

* Maintains vehicle cleanliness throughout the day.

* Occasionally uses chipping hammer to remove excess concrete build up.

* Performs minor repairs and assists mechanics in vehicle repairs.

* Changes flat tires with spares and assists tire mechanic as needed.

**Safety:**

* Comply with safety rules and wear personal protective equipment.

* Report all unsafe conditions promptly.

* Offer suggestions for accident prevention.

* Serve on Safety Committees as requested.

**Other:**

* Takes customer order changes in the field and reports same to dispatch.

* Maintains Drivers Daily Logs.

* Performs other duties as instructed

**Qualifications**

**Education and/or Experience** :

High School Diploma or G.E.D. (Educational requirement can be waived in lieu of work experience.). Valid Class A or B Commercial Drivers License. Ability to provide high standards of customer service. Ability to clean all areas on the vehicle, climb ladder to inspect loads, and hang extension chutes. Satisfactory work attendance record.

**Computer Skills:** Experience with Microsoft Office products and some ability to adapt to other computer software.

**Working Conditions**

Consists of truck cabin, office setting and on-site at plants. Office environment will include suitable work areas and standard office equipment. On site work consists of activities which include navigating heights, machinery and exposure to elements such as dust, changes in temperature and weather. Required safety equipment will be issued and policies and procedures focused on safety will apply. Ability to work in areas with the potential for high noise levels. Outdoors 90%(Inside of cab approximately 50% of time) Indoors 10%

**Physical/Mental Requirements**

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear and sit for long periods of time. This position requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing at times. The employee must consistently lift and carry items up to 40 pounds and occasionally lift or move items up to 60 pounds. Must be able to frequently climb stairs and ladders. Ability to use vibration tools. May occasionally deal with heights. Must be able to safely maintain 3 points of contact when applicable . Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with staff, employees and managers. Manual Dexterity. Effective conflict resolution abilities. Ability to present facts and recommendations effectively in oral and written form. Ability to read, write and do mathematics.

**Other Requirements**

Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required.

Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.

Must be willing to register for DOT Clearing House

**Work Schedule: 15 hour maximum on duty time per day**

**Adheres to DOT regulations restricting no more than 70 hours in 7 days**

**Breaks available as production allows**
