Our enterprise-level client in Plano, TX, has a need for a NOC Technician. Please see below for full details-
Job Notes:
--6+ month contract / extendable
--Onsite in Plano, TX
--Drug & Background check required.
Current Responsibilities:
--Orion Monitoring (Full Day Monitoring) - Monitors GA Network of Linux, Windows, Azure, and Amazon Web Service servers. Including high priority and low priority applications.
--Service Account Monitoring (Full Day Monitoring) - Monitors service accounts in the GA environment with failed login attempts. Account owners must be notified after 100 failed attempts through email.
--Uploading Incident "Driver" Documentation(5 minutes) - Allowing for more in depth information about incidents that are happening within the blue environment. Used for auditing purposes as well.
--Daily VMware environment checks
--Daily Morning Report (15 - 30 minutes) - Used to provide measure of ITS compliance and security while ensuring items outside expected state are addressed by leaders.
--Monthly/Quarterly Data Analytics (Monthly) - Use of Orion, Opsgenie, and SharePoint for data analysis of incidents, alerts, and ticket queue.
--Incident Response/Alerting (Full day Monitoring) - Identification, recording, and alerting of GA network outages using communications with service desk, Outlook, Orion, Opsgenie, AT&T Bridge.
--VMware Server Provisioning (15-30 minutes) - Used to manage tickets involving Windows servers such as Snapshots, VM restores, hardware and software changes.
--Note: 15 to 30 minutes is the physical work required. Tickets such as VM restores can involve a 4 hour wait time.
--Orion Server Managing (10 Minutes) - Add, delete, or silence servers in the Orion map view for various reasons of server maintenance.
--File Locks and Restores (15-30 minutes) - Work with users on recovering and unlocking files in their network shares and/or workstation.
--Trusted Software Request (10 minutes) - Input, Zip, and transfer files through Metascan server. This is used for scanning of files for any security risk against the GA environment. If found dirty will be escalated with Cyber Security and their results will come back to us for handling of the file.
--Commvault (15 minutes) - Server Backup application used for checks on successful daily backups and/or failures.
--Peer Review (10 minutes) - 3rd party check on server decommission steps.
--Infrastructure Operations Ticket queue (Full day Monitoring) - Forward tickets and incidents to their proper channels. As well as take our Tier 1 ticket workload from this queue.
--Local SA Addition - Receiving tasks to provide users with local admin rights to servers.
--Microsoft Server Building VM and Physical(2.5 hours) - requiring email communication of approval, and various steps to successfully put-up requested servers.
--Microsoft Server Decommission VM and Physical (1.5 hours) - requiring email communication of approval, and various steps to successfully take down requested servers.
--Venafi Certificate Manager (15 minutes/full day monitoring) - create and delete certificates as requested. Receive emails periodically for request of renewals and approvals of certificates used in the environment.
--Internal & External DNS Entries (15 minutes) - use of Active Directory and Ultra DNS on request to make A records and CNAME's for device location.
--Application troubleshooting (15 minutes) - receives notification through email on services not working. Will enter servers such as Metascan and troubleshoot the application until fixed.
--PowerShell Scripting - assigned for us to build a more efficient workload by personally finding ways to script small amounts of work to our advantage.
