**Overview**

Karma Automotive, founded in 2014, is a southern California based producer of luxury electric vehicles. Headquartered in Irvine, CA, Karma sells vehicles via its dealer network in North America, Europe, South America and the Middle East. Karmas production facility (referred to as Karma's Innovation and Customization Center) is located in Moreno Valley, CA and offers world-class customization, and manufacturing services along with electrification platforms. Karmas flagship vehicle, the Revero GT, was awarded Green Car Journals 2020 Luxury Green Car of the Year. In 2021 Karma announced the GS-6 Series which include an extended-range series hybrid EV and their first-ever all-electric vehicle. Every Karma vehicle is created with unparalleled individual care and craftsmanship and combines leading technology with a luxury experience.

The **Director, Interior Design** creates and oversees the Interior Design process and supports the implementation of Interior Design projects within the greater Karma team.

**Responsibilities**

* Lead Design process and brief project framework and oversee Interior Design proposals according to the design briefs.

* Lead and supervise all Interior Design team activities.

* Manage, support, and advise development of components/vehicles from initial design to production and complete lifecycle.

* Benchmark competitive vehicles.

* Research Interior Design and styling trends.

* Interface with surfacing, engineering, and suppliers.

* Comply with regulatory and feasibility requirements.

* Design concept to production for entire model range.

* Deliverables Research, 2D and 3D Design process.

* Guide CAD/Clay Modeling teams.

* Organize/attend design, marketing, engineering, manufacturing, and supplier meetings/reviews.

* Prepare Presentations for upper management.

* Cross functional collaboration and issue resolution/negotiation, CMF Design + HMI/UX design.

* Interact directly with suppliers.

* Other duties, as assigned.

* Reports to Senior Design Director.

**Requirements**

* Masters or bachelors degree in Automotive Design or related field preferred (equivalent in extensive experience considered).

* Minimum 8 years of experience in developing Interior Vehicle Design for OEMs.

* Minimum 3 years of experience in managing Interior Designers and Design Teams.

* Must excel in a team environment, with strong leadership and interpersonal (people-soft) skills.

* Hands-on experience with interior color, material, and quality reviews, as well as HMI/UX experience.

* Must possess strong oral and written communication skills.

* Must be able to prioritize well, stay organized, and operate calmly and confidently in a variety of working environments.

* Experience in developing production designs for Exterior and/or Interior Designs.

* Strong experience in 3D as it relates to Clay and CAD models.

* Eligible to work in the U.S. and must be available to travel.
