We are looking for an Engineer III that possesses the mindset of an analytics engineer. You will work closely with our data product, engineering and business teams to drive our analytics codebase forward and maximize the business impact of our data and reporting. You will be responsible for understanding where our data originates, transforming the data into curated and servable datasets, developing strategic KPI's, designing processes and introducing best practices to enhance quality and efficiency. You have comfort working across various tools (Tableau, PowerBI, Looker) and platforms (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Databricks) and can use your communication and technical savvy to ask questions and deliver solutions that our stakeholders will adopt.
What You’ll Do
Own reporting tools, analytics pipelines to ensure consistent availability and accuracy of mission-critical data
Be an advocate and practitioner of data modeling and requirements mastery. Understand how to design efficient models for various solutions and their associated tradeoffs
Partner with stakeholders on KPI development and tracking across the organization
Migrate non-enterprise datasources such as csv and excel files from our reporting platforms into Snowflake.
Build data marts, datasets, reports that represent the source of truth for our key metrics
Keep data sources fresh even while requirements and definitions change
Understand how to integrate our datasets, marts and reports into Tableau as certified data sources for end-user consumption
Drive self-service and data literacy for business users on our data platform by creating and documenting data structures and datasets, SQL and high value dashboards
Be a highly visible customer-facing engineer that excels in communication
Provide architecture and design guidance to the team for creating data models, OLAP cubes and queries to provide high quality, performant and reliable business insight to the stakeholders
Executes to project deliverables, timelines, and dependencies for team members and stakeholders following an agile SDLC to reduce time to market
Establish processes to enable proactive planning and expansion of infrastructure based on usage and adoption
Recommend technical solutions based on business requirements and prioritization
Acts as a technical lead to other engineers (including offshore and contract resources), help the team make key technical decisions, unblock them, and guide them on execution
Who We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Sciences or equivalent work experience
5+ years of professional development experience working in enterprise-scale data warehousing, reporting and BI setup
Must have knowledge of one or more of Data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, SSRS, SSAS or other
Experience working in agile development environment
Must have experience in designing and executing data models
5+ years of designing, implementing, and building business intelligence solutions that deliver insights with measurable quality under the SLA
5+ years of SQL (MSSQL, Snowflake, AWS Redshift, Hive, etc.) experience is required
Experience working with cloud providers, both on the IAAS side (AWS, Azure, GCP), and in the data and analytics space (Snowflake, etc). We run our infrastructure in AWS, so experience with that ecosystem is a huge plus.
Experience working with DBT is a huge plus
Experience with ETL/ELT is a huge plus
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
Ability to thrive under pressure and function effectively in a fast-paced work environment
Exhibit sound judgment and swift decision-making skills
Exhibit strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to collaborate and build consensus with others
Love of technology; actively seeks continuing education of current and emerging technologies
Experience with building analytic solutions applicable to Sales, Finance, Product, Operations, and Marketing organizations in an enterprise
Experience working in agile development environment
Experience working with Salesforce and Yardi in real estate domain highly desirable
Experience in working in large teams using CI/CD and agile methodologies
Ability to learn new business processes and functions quickly
Ability to travel 1-2x a year to meet team in person at Dallas HQ

Salary Range
$98,640.00 - $170,976.00
