FSLA Status: Full-time/Non-exempt
Location: Indianapolis, IN
Pay Rate: $20/hr
Scope of the Role
The Equipment Operator is responsible for supporting overall warehouse operations including but not limited to safely maintaining and operating equipment, maintain a clean and organized working environment and storage spaces and maintain integrity of merchandise.
Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities
• Load, unload, and stack merchandise onto or from pallets, floor, or racks by hand.
• Separate merchandise for shipment to warehouse location or according to management’s instructions.
• Maintain integrity of products through proper handling.
• Affix appropriate labels to pallet or carton.
• Apply shrink-wrap to pallets of merchandise.
• Transport merchandise directly to shipping as needed.
• Use a scanner to process merchandise for accurate inventory and location tracking.
• Follow company policies and procedures and maintain a safe work environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Required Experience
• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1+ years’ experience required in a similar role in the warehouse environment.
• Required experience in operating a Forklift and/or pallet jack (Active certification is a plus).
• Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and written.
• Ability to sufficiently read and comprehend freight instructions.
• Possess basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to stand on feet frequently for long periods of time.
• Ability to lift weights of up to 75 pounds on a continual basis.
• Ability to safely operate pallet jack.
• Excellent attendance required; must be able to work on a regular and predictable basis or as schedule due to changes in the business needs and/or during peak season.
• Ability to work in a warehouse environment with variable noise levels, lighting conditions and temperature variation.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet business needs, including nights and weekends.
