RTI is seeking a Software Engineer I. As a member of our Development Team, you will build a secure real-time middleware platform with extreme performance and scalability.
Responsibilities
Defining RTI’s product vision and strategy;
Supporting, designing, developing, testing and documenting core infrastructure software, part of the RTI Connext Data Distribution Services (DDS) products;
Creating engineering builds resolving specific bugs and ship maintenance releases;
Designing new features and participate in architecture reviews for the overall product, and develop new features using C/C++, Java or C#;
Testing and maintaining middleware on a variety of operating systems and real-time embedded platforms, and for interoperability with other DDS-based products;
Writing API and feature documentation and evaluate and analyze performance;
Triaging customer issues, and finding timely creative solutions to customer problems, and identifying potential problems or areas for improvement.

Requirements
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field such as Electrical Engineering and Computer Science or a related field, including experience with or knowledge of:
Software design/development, including distributed systems, embedded systems and multiplatform use;
Computer networks and network security for communication middleware and peer-to-peer networks;
Software development experience through coding in a general purpose programming language;
Coding in C/C++, Java, and C#;
Experience with testing on real-time embedded platforms;
Jira; Excel, Google Sheets, Python tools and databases for data analysis and data visualization;
Operating Systems, computer architecture and system software fundamentals; and
Open source projects.

The compensation for this role is $135,283 - $150,000 per year in Sunnyvale, California. The salary range displayed on this job posting reflects a minimum and maximum target. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Please note that this range reflects the base salary target range only, and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits.
