The Quality Control Specialist position ensures the quality control department is running efficiently. Writes and documents quality inspection and testing procedures by performing the below responsibilities. Responsible for the implementation and/or following of departmental policies, practices and procedures.

Responsibilities

Ensure incoming materials and processes comply with current specifications and or SOP.

Ensure nonconforming material is dispositioned, isolated and properly stored, scraped and or returned.

Liaise with vendors to negotiate compensation for returned and defective product.

Document and update inspection results based on incoming defects and monitor reports for potential quality trends.

Recommends, reviews and implements modifications to existing quality procedure to achieve optimum quality standards.

Work together with warehouse staff to direct audit products via random sampling.

Ensure auditing efficiency is up to date (DTS, Skip, Reduced etc.).

Establish priorities and ensure maximum usage of assigned resources.

Conduct meetings regularly with inspection and audit team to maintain consistency in teamwork.

Manage and monitor Quality Systems (SCAR, Complaints, Ink Test, auditing, etc.).

Maintain time and attendance in ADP and monitor scheduling of resources.

Guide Inspectors through new practices, training and or certifications.

Maintain a safe work environment by following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations.

Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, watching industry videos, etc. to ensure quality best practices.

Processing, managing and monitoring Return's

Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree with two years' experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Excellent communication skills.

Ability to follow oral and/or written instruction.

Excellent decision-making skills.
