The Staff Software Engineer, Data Engineering will create the next generation of Zscaler's Digital Experience AI/analytics platform. The candidate will help build a platform to collect and ingest several billion (and growing) events from Zscaler's globally distributed connectors and provide actionable insights to customers.
Responsibilities
Design and build multi-tenant systems capable of loading and transforming large volumes of structured and semi-structured telemetry data
Build robust and scalable data infrastructure (both batch processing and real-time) to support needs from internal and external users
Implement measures to address data privacy, security and compliance
Work with product management, marketing, engineering architecture, AI/data science teams to identify requirements and evolve data architecture
Qualifications
8+ years of hands-on experience working with cloud-based software development and large-scale data lake solutions
Must be proficient with coding in Java, Python would be a plus
Must have expertise with the one or more Large-scale Data analytics platforms (such as Spark, Azure Data Explorer or similar)
Must have expertise with distributed storages architecture (such as Hadoop or similar)
3+ years of experience in building high performance data processing infrastructure taking into account concurrency, latency and efficiency by profiling, reviewing logs etc
2+ years working with query engines (such as Kusto, Presto, Hive or Spark SQL or similar)
2+ years working with data processing frameworks such as Kafka, Storm, Elastic search.
Cloud platform experience working with Azure, AWS, EC2, S3, EMR, Redshift or similar platforms
Identify the right kind of data serialization techniques and data stores for persisting events
Experience architecting systems following the REST and GraphQL architectural style
Networking experience and some knowledge of TCP/IP protocols is a huge plus (HTTP, DNS, SSL).
Working experience with network and health Telemetry data is a plus.
Working experience with network and health telemetry large-scale data is a plus.
Exposure to AI and Deep Learning platforms such as TensorFlow
Work closely with Data Scientist to apply and deploy ML models for telemetry data analytics
Excellent interpersonal, technical and communication skills
Ability to learn, evaluate and adopt new technologies
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Bachelor's Degree in computer science or equivalent experience
Zscaler’s salary ranges are benchmarked and are determined by role and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations and could be higher or lower based on a multitude of factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
The base salary range listed for this full-time position excludes commission/ bonus/ equity (if applicable) + benefits.
Base Pay Range
$129,500 — $172,000 USD
