POSITIONNetwork Engineer
OVERVIEW
•We are seeking a high-impact technology professional with a leadership mentality who will be responsible for administration, configuration, business process optimization, 3rd party integrations, and application development. In this role, you will help evaluate our needs and objectives and then offer the best solutions to accomplish those outcomes including implementation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
•Evaluate, plan, design, configure, maintain, optimize, monitor, and upgrade the organization’s network infrastructure, networks including network systems in data centers and third-party hosted sites.
•Design, configure, implement, install, and manage the organization’s LANs, WANs, VMs, virtual networks, firewalls, and wireless networks, including routers, switches, and other network devices.
•Bring all network outages and problems to a conclusion in a quick and efficient manner.
•Perform network design, implementation, and capacity planning to ensure that network infrastructure and functionalities meet existing and future requirements.
•Ensure Network security, protocols, and policies, to safeguard network infrastructure.
•Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans for network resource administration, appropriate use, and disaster recovery.
•Implement and manage disaster recovery and system back-ups.
•Conduct research and make recommendations on network products, services, protocols, and standards in support of network procurement and development efforts.
•Recommend, schedule, and perform network improvements, security improvements, system upgrades, and repairs.
•Recommend improvements and/or alternatives to the company’s existing systems architecture and technology portfolio.
•Manage and set priorities for the architectural design, maintenance, development, and evaluation of all network infrastructures, including LANs, WANs, VMs, Internet, intranet, security, wireless implementations, and other duties as assigned.
•Conduct feasibility studies for various upgrade projects, improvements, and other conversions.
•Manage and/or provide guidance to junior members of the team.
•Conduct research on emerging technologies in support of network development efforts and recommend technologies that will increase cost-effectiveness and network flexibility.
•Create and maintain documentation in Visio as it relates to network configuration, network mapping, processes, and service records.
•Develop and deploy methodologies for testing network performance and providing network performance statistics and reports.
•Monitor network performance (availability, utilization, throughput, speed, and latency) and test for weaknesses.
•Ensure network and network services have security, connectivity, reliability, and efficiency.
•Specify system requirements and design solutions. Create technical support documentation for systems and applications.
•Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents required.
•Comply with policies established by federal and state law, and Southwest Funding
REQUIRED SKILLS
•Minimum 5+ years of experience in implementing enterprise-wide LANs, WANs, WLANs, VPNs, VMs, virtual networks, routers, switches, firewalls, IDS/IPS, Wireless AP, and web filtering devices/applications.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in the finance industry
•Proven experience in an IT network administrator/architect role
•Hands-on knowledge and experience with PowerBI, SQL, and Active Directory
•Demonstrated experience with critical thinking, analyzing, interpreting, and researching information.
•Demonstrated experience in effectively managing relationships with internal and external partners.
•Experience communicating with all levels of management.

•Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
EDUCATION
•BS/BA degree preferred, preferably in Computer Science or related field
•Knowledge of Encompass
LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS
•At least one IT certification (CCIE, CCNP, CCNA, MCSE or related) preferred.
