Reports To: Chief Executive Officer
Physical Requirements: Normal Office Environment
Hours of Work : Full time, 37.5 hours per week Monday thru Friday. Additional hours as required.
Pay Range: The pay range is $130,000 to $200,000
Job Summary
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is part of the organization's senior leadership team and assists in the development of the organizations long-range goals, strategies, plans, and policies especially as they relate to financial implications for the organization. The CFO is responsible for providing overall leadership, coordination, planning, development and administration of the finance function to support the organization and its subsidiaries. The CFO directs budgeting, audit preparation, accounting, risk insurance activities, information systems management and purchasing for the organization.
Job Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required; Master's Degree preferred.
CPA certification preferred.
A minimum of ten years progressive accounting experience in a management position required; non-profit experience preferred.
Five or more years of supervisory experience required.
Expertise in NYS Reimbursement related to Medicaid and cost reporting preferred.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, hands on environment and handle multiple priorities and deadlines.
Detail oriented, good communication and strong organizational skills.
Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language.
A valid NYS driver's license is required.
Major Responsibilities:
Provide the CEO, the Board of Directors, and other organizational management with timely, accurate and relevant financial reports and data necessary for budgetary and financial decisions.
Oversee accounting functions of the departments which include accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, general ledger preparation, financial statement preparations and other accounting activities
Manage and oversee the performance of financial management staff.
Establish long and short term financial objectives, policies and procedures for the agency.
Direct preparation of the annual budgeting process.
Administer the Agency's qualified and non-qualified retirement plans.
Assure that agency reimbursement policies and procedures are followed and in regulatory compliance.
Manage and coordinate all investment activities.
Assure that management is apprised of changes in tax laws and reimbursement regulations and that the agency is operationally up-to-date with those laws.
