POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for overseeing all aspects of our information technology security infrastructure, policies, and procedures. This role will play a critical part in protecting our organization from cyber threats, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and standards, and fostering a culture of security awareness among our employees.

A key element of this role is working with executive management to determine acceptable levels of risk for the organization and proactively working with business units and ecosystem partners to ensure our security practices address IT security risks that are deemed not acceptable.

This is a hybrid role working in our Westfield, Indiana office and from home.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive IT security strategies, policies, and procedures to protect the organization's digital assets, networks, and data.

Lead a team composed of security vendors and IT security professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure the effective execution of security initiatives.

Conduct regular risk assessments and vulnerability analyses to identify potential security weaknesses and develop mitigation plans.

Monitor and analyze security incidents and breaches, responding promptly to contain and mitigate the impact, while ensuring proper documentation and reporting.

Stay abreast of emerging threats, trends, and technologies in the cybersecurity landscape, and recommend proactive measures to enhance the organization's security posture.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, legal, compliance, and executive leadership, to align security objectives with business goals and objectives.

Oversee the implementation and maintenance of security tools, security point solutions / technologies, and infrastructure ensuring they meet the organization's needs and standards.

Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external audits, regulatory compliance assessments, and security-related inquiries.

Develop and deliver security awareness training programs and materials to educate employees about best practices and protocols for maintaining a secure work environment.

Foster a culture of security awareness and compliance throughout the organization, promoting accountability and responsibility for cybersecurity among all employees.

Project a positive image of AgReliant Genetics and act as a role model for Company Core Values

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CISA) preferred.

Proven experience (5+ years) in a mid-senior leadership role within IT security, with a track record of developing and implementing successful security strategies and initiatives.

In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity principles, protocols, technologies, and best practices, with a strong understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, PCI DSS). Strongly desired, but not required - Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC) or other similar credentials

Experience with managed security service providers; (contract and vendor negotiations)

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES: Knowledge of common information security management frameworks, such as ISO/IEC 27001, ITIL, COBIT as well as those from NIST, including 800-53 and Cybersecurity Framework

Demonstrated experience leading and managing vendors and other IT security professionals, with strong leadership and interpersonal skills.

Ability to think strategically and analytically, with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.

High degree of initiative, dependability, and ability to work with little supervision while being resilient to change

Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage resources effectively.

A critical thinker, with strong problem-solving / trouble-shooting skills

Excellent stakeholder management skills

Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Commitment to continuous learning and professional development, with a passion for staying current on emerging trends and technologies in cybersecurity.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to lift 15 lbs.

Willing to travel on occasion

Ability to work required hours

Must have valid driver’s license and meet MVR requirements
