**The Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) Manager is responsible for developing, planning, coordinating and directing environmental and health/safety activities to ensure employee engagement and regulatory compliance.**

**Position Details** **:**

* Periodic travel to company facilities in Hartford and Milwaukee locations
**Key Responsibilities:**
* Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local safety laws, regulations, codes and rules
* Assist with developing policy, programs, and procedures to ensure proper training, and communications
* Support all Safety related activities and programs as assigned
* Representative when dealing with government agencies on safety and health matters affecting the organization
* Trains employees and management in safe practices including: Hazardous Communications, blood borne pathogens, respirator use, lock-out/tag-out, forklift operation, fire protection, and safe lifting
* Provides information to top management on accidents, causes, and costs and recommends long-range accident reduction and cost containment objectives
* Coordinates activities with local fire departments on inspection of facilities
* Ensure environmental compliance and ISO 14001 requirements are adequately planned and completed
* Partners with Safety Manager in communication requirements to all employees, visitors, contractors, and customers
* Independently take on environmental and regulatory requirements related to EPA, DNR, and local regulations as assigned
* Perform any other duties as assigned
**Job Qualifications:**
* Bachelors Degree in environmental or physical sciences or equivalent
* 3-5 years of experience in a safety related field
* Metal coating and painting, manufacturing and ISO 14001 knowledge and/or experience preferred
* Excellent organizational, analytical and communication skills
* Ability to take initiative, problem solve, and work autonomously
* Good attention to detail
* Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
* Critical Thinking
