Chief Enterprise Architect - Data Technology

Reporting to the Head of IT Data Technology, Core Specialty is seeking an accomplished and visionary Chief Enterprise Architect . Key Accountabilities/Deliverables:
Collaborate with the Head of Data Technology to develop and execute the enterprise-wide analytics strategy aligned with organizational goals
Define opportunities to create a competitive advantage through data projects
Lead the design and implementation of scalable and efficient data models, data pipelines, and data integration solutions to support various business initiatives
Provide leadership and technical direction for data engineers and architects
Partner with the Head of Data Technology to define KPIs, establish performance metrics, and monitor the effectiveness of analytics initiatives, providing regular reports and insights to leadership
Drive innovation by staying abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data analytics
Lead and mentor a team of data engineers, providing technical guidance, support, and expertise
Work with Application Development teams (Data Producers) as needed to bring Data Analytics representation to those initiatives
Define repeatable build patterns including the creation of working prototypes (requires the ability to code)
Partner with the Head of IT Data technology to create a Center of Practice for Data Analytics projects - leading to consistency and high quality build practices
Creation of Enterprise-level artifacts for components within the Analytics Platform
Complete health assessments of the data ecosystem as needed and provide recommendations to the Head of IT Applications and Head of IT Data Technologies
Bring a creative mindset to finding solutions
Work with Scrum Masters to define work products as needed
Function as the Product Owner for the tech-debt backlog
Participate in technology and tool assessments as needed
Conduct coding interviews for engineering and architect roles
Technical Knowledge and Understanding: Data Engineering Skills: Proficiency in data manipulation, transformation, and processing. Strong understanding of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes
Programming Languages: Solid programming skills in languages like Python, Java, Scala, or SQL for data manipulation, scripting, and automation.
Cloud Platforms: Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS (Amazon Web Services), Azure, Azure Synapse Analytics, GCP (Google Cloud Platform), or other providers. Knowledge of cloud-specific data services like AWS S3, Azure Data Lake, Google BigQuery, Snowflake, Azure Databricks
Data Warehousing Concepts: Traditional concepts (Kimball, Inman) and modern approaches - (Data Vault 2.0, Data Mesh)
Database Technologies: Familiarity with various database technologies like SQL databases, NoSQL databases, and distributed data stores.
Big Data Technologies: Knowledge of big data tools and frameworks like Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Hive
Data Processing and Analysis: Experience with data processing and analysis tools such as Apache Spark, Apache Flink, Pandas, NumPy
Data Pipeline and Workflow Tools: Familiarity with workflow management tools like Apache Airflow, Luigi, or cloud-native services for orchestrating data workflows
Experience: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
Proven experience (15+ years) as a Data Architect, Data Engineer, or similar role within an enterprise setting
Preferred Experience: Experience in the Property & Casualty Insurance industry
Experience creating ingestion and streaming solutions for real-time reporting
Experience building advanced analytic solutions for P&C Insurance (Predictive Models, CAT Models, Financial Forecasting Models, Actuarial Models, Risk Assessments)
Strong understanding of machine learning algorithms, statistical modeling, and data processing techniques
Experience deploying AI/ML solutions
Experience with machine learning frameworks and libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn
Experience with Azure OpenAI or Azure ML applications
Familiarity with developing ML DevOps Framework
