Summary

Donor Insights is the analytical arm of the Strategy team at the CDR division that delivers actionable observations on donor behavior and informs the data-driven elements of campaign strategy, planning and execution. The Strategy and Insights Specialist partners with teams at CDR that support client success. The Strategy and Insights Specialist supports the Strategy and Insights teams through reporting, presentation building, and data analysis. The ideal candidate must be a flexible thinker able to work in a fast-paced, creative environment and comfortable with various reporting tools, passionate about data, and interested in building graphically tight presentations. The right candidate for this role will be interested in growing and expanding their knowledge of fundraising, strategy, reporting, analytics, and/or client services.

Primary Responsibilities

Extracts campaign and analytics reports from company tools (e.g., Power BI or Excel workbooks).

Manages the queue of Strategy projects in Workfront from assignment and monitoring through to completion.

Builds tables, charts, and PivotTables using provided (or exported) data sources.

Builds high quality client presentations in PowerPoint, using company brand standards.

Provides initial insights on the reports built and prepared.

Reviews ad hoc requests to ensure all information needed has been accounted for in the request.

Develops trusted relationships with key client contacts and internal team members.

Assists in building fiscal year budgets and actively pursues strategies to achieve budgeted goals and long-range growth scenario projections.

Assists in building segmentation recommendations.

Helps businesses understand what is happening in the marketplace to help them prioritize understanding the why behind the what.

Assist in building key performance indicators.

Reports any anomalies in reporting to manager.

Qualifications

2+ years working in an agency or consulting firm is required.

Bachelor's degree required.

Experience with direct mail, digital, sustainer, event, or other strategies a plus.

Experience with CRMs a plus.

Fundraising experience and knowledge of the nonprofit industry is required.

High proficiency in Microsoft Office - including Excel and PowerPoint - is required.

Marketing agency experience is a plus.

Power BI exposure or proficiency is a plus.

Knowledge of direct mail, digital, telemarketing, DRTV, and/or face to face marketing is a plus.

Knowledge of fundraising metrics, file segmentation techniques, and direct marketing strategy is a plus.

Knowledge of CRMs (such as Raiser's Edge, Donor Perfect, EveryAction, Salesforce, etc.) a plus.

Demonstrated ability to be a creative and resourceful problem solver.

A willingness to incorporate both internal and external feedback.

Strong work ethic and ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.

Demonstrated attention to detail, outstanding organizational, time management and planning expertise.

This position will require regular travel, 10-20%.
