Position Summary/Objective
The Tax Operations Consulting Project team works within our consultative payroll tax practice and supports M&A and other complex projects working with multiple service delivery teams
Essential Functions/Duties/Responsibilities
Liase with Tax Operations Teams and Tax Customers with regard to special projects including, but not limited to, Mergers, Acquisitions, Divestitures, Spin-offs, Common Pay Agent mechanisms, Common Paymaster mechanisms, complex customer on-boarding and off-boarding scenarios, quarter-end and year-end planning/execution related to payroll and/or payroll tax,
Document unique handling scenarios in support of Tax Operations special projects or unique customer requirements
Oversee execution of above activities on behalf of OSV customers
Support tax reporting including researching and responding to complex tax inquires originating internally or originating with customers.
Partner with Treasury and development teams to support various complex audit and data management programs
Maintain current knowledge of payroll tax regulations including federal, state, and local taxes. This includes rapidly researching specific tax and agency requirements through agency websites and other general tax sources. While this role is not directly responsible for compliance it supports and interprets taxes and regulations in conjunction with the internal compliance group, and frequently communicates research results both internally and to customer.
Work with the Customer Success Team to get complex customer issues resolved as they arise. This requires knowing where and how the hand-offs occur between various OSV teams like US and Canadian payroll, tax, garnishments, treasury, accounting and others. Assist with year end W-2 processes/reconciliations. Strong knowledge of W-2 filing, SSA, state, local, territory rules and file formats is extremely benificial.
Ability to rapidly, confidently, competently understand root causes of customer issues. This includes empathetically defusing escalated issues and being directly involved with the effective orchestration of, and timely completion of proposed resolutions.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to interface with all levels from the C-Suite to the payroll clerk.
Must be extremely organized, have attention to detail, and meet critical deadlines
Analytical with strong problem-solving abilities and creative resolution skills
Ability to work well under pressure while consistently meeting time sensitive deadlines
Self-motivated, with the ability to work on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Strong knowledge of MS Office including Excel and Word.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position will not have supervisory responsibility.
Qualifications and Experience
6+ years working in tax consulting, strong experience handling M&A and other complex tax projects
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or similar field of study; or equivalent years in an advanced payroll tax function.
Experience providing customer support via a Service Provider or Shared Services Organization preferred.
Extensive Tax System experience
