Position Summary, Job Requirements & Responsibilities:

What Were Looking For:

If you are experienced in government business support within the satellite services industry and have 10+ years of experience, then you will be excited about the Senior Government Programs Manager opening with Iridium. As a Senior Government Programs Manager , youll be responsible for managing multiple activities and projects, including those with cross-functional teams, to ensure the overall effective delivery of satellite services to the US Government. In this role, you will focus primarily on supporting day-to-day business activities, managing logistical details, overseeing government contracts, and fostering relationships with key stakeholders within the EMSS (Enhanced Mobile Satellite Services) Program. You will thrive in this role if you are detail-oriented, possess strong organizational skills, and excel in facilitating operational execution that supports strategic goals.

This position requires an active/current Secret Security Clearance or the ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active).

What Youll Do:

Be responsible for the management of EMSS Contracts, focusing on the quality of related enhancements and support for the EMSS Airtime and maintenance contracts

Provide oversight of the EMSS program, contributing to positive CPARS (Contractor Performance Assessment Reporting System)

Facilitate communication and coordination among key EMSS Program internal stakeholders, supporting relationship management efforts

Engage in customer support activities, evaluating applicability for currently scoped efforts verses needs for future efforts

Contribute to the support process for Iridium services, ensuring planned EMSS Roadmap activities align with strategic business objectives

Play a key role in the preparation and analysis of financial and operational reports for the EMSS Program, providing data and insights to support strategic decisions

Support strategic planning activities, such as the development of account plans and proposal strategies

Participate in the preparation and support of negotiations, proposal developments, and customer engagement activities

Identify and support the evaluation of new and emerging technologies and services, ensuring they meet operational needs and align with strategic goals of the EMSS Program

Coordinate across internal organizations to support decisions and activities that drive the success of the EMSS Program

Experience & Education Requirements / EEO:

What Youll Need to Succeed:

Bachelors degree in Business, Engineering, or related field

10+ years of relevant experience in the satellite telecommunications industry

A strong foundation in operational processes, with an interest in learning about market dynamics, mobile satellite products, and military tactical communications

Experience in supporting the delivery of services to the US Government or in an operational role within a related field

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey products, deliverables, analyses, and/or issues clearly and confidently, and recognize and adapt to different communication techniques

Can easily build meaningful relationships with others, including senior leadership outside of your own department, and is comfortable providing constructive feedback to your team members and management

Ability to support relationships and network internally and externally to facilitate business objectives

Be able to analyze a situation or problem, generate effective solutions, and see those solutions through to completion

Must possess the creativity and resourcefulness needed to make reliable decisions and determine methods on new assignments

Can thrive in a dynamic environment by handling multiple tasks and managing shifting priorities

Be proactive in sharing knowledge youve learned with others

A collaborative team player, eager to learn and contribute to the achievement of business and strategic objectives within the EMSS Program

Things That Would be Great if You Brought to the Table:

DoD (Department of Defense) Top Secret Security Clearance

Well also need you to :

Be able to travel up to 10%

Be a US Citizen with no dual citizenship

Work Environment:

This position primarily works in the company office or in a home office. The position is largely sedentary with the majority of the position sitting in a chair and working with a computer. The role uses basic office equipment including a phone, video, computer, keyboard, mouse and printer. For in person meetings, this position will need to be able stand, walk within the office and climb stairs on occasion.
