Carbon Inventory Manager, WW Sustainability

Seattle, WA, United States

Description

Join us at the cutting edge of Amazon's sustainability initiatives to work on environmental and social advancements to support Amazon's long term worldwide sustainability strategy. At Amazon, we're working to be the most customer-centric company on earth. To get there, we need exceptionally talented, bright, and driven people.

The Worldwide Sustainability (WWS) organization capitalizes on Amazon’s scale and speed to build a more resilient and sustainable company. We manage our social and environmental impacts globally, and drive solutions that enable our customers, businesses, and the world to become more sustainable.

The ESG-eX team's mission is to build a lasting, scalable and trusted ESG reporting infrastructure to satisfy regulatory requirements and stakeholders’ expectations. We translate external requirements into internal needs and build tools and mechanisms that enable Amazon businesses to meet their ESG reporting obligations and effectively manage their ESG opportunities and risks.

The Carbon Inventory Program Manager is responsible for continuous improvement of Amazon’s global carbon accounting and reporting program.

This role requires strong collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills to build support across the Amazon business units, drive data-driven decision making, and supports the company's ambitious sustainability goals.

Key job responsibilities

Lead the continuous enhancement of Amazon’s centralized carbon inventory system to track, analyze, and report on the company's Scope 1, Scope 2, and relevant Scope 3 emissions.

Establish and maintain a cross-functional coalition of stakeholders, including representatives from Amazon’s global business units, finance teams, internal technology/software teams, and other key departments, to ensure comprehensive data collection.

Engage with department leads and subject matter experts to understand data sources, systems, and processes required for accurate greenhouse gas emissions (aka “carbon”) tracking and reporting.

Prepare periodic carbon accounting reports, dashboards, and other communications to inform strategic decision-making and drive progress against sustainability goals.

Collaborate with the sustainability and corporate communications teams to integrate carbon data and insights into the company's broader environmental, social, and governance (ESG) reporting.

Serve as the internal carbon accounting subject matter expert, providing training and guidance to cross-functional teams on emissions data collection, analysis, and interpretation.

Facilitate workshops and working sessions to align the organization on carbon accounting methodologies, emissions reduction targets, and reporting frameworks.
