**Position Purpose** As an Associate Buyer, you will partner with the Sr. Buyer in delivering consumer benefit driven product innovation for Sleep Numbers Bedding Collection as part of the Sleep Innovation team. The Associate Buyer will be tasked with supporting an expansive product roadmap to meet consumers sleep needs and improve upon their individual sleep experience.
**Primary Responsibilities**
* Support Sr. Buyer in bringing forth meaningful innovation that strengthens Sleep Numbers Bedding Collection competitive advantage
* Understand current and emerging trends in the industry and with the competition
* Partner with Sr. Buyer in building an expansive product roadmap to meet consumers needs
* Manage all aspects of a product category within the bedding collection assortment
* Manage timing and action grids with team and vendors on product launches to ensure execution
* Build and maintain strong vendor relationships
* Financial planning and forecasting to deliver results for assigned category
* Develop an annual financial plan on a category that supports total bedding collection goals
* Monthly/Weekly financial forecasting and analysis to identify opportunities for sales and margin
* Assortment planning to increase productivity (styleouts, category and class plans)
* Support the delivery of end to end commercialization for the customer (interactive, marketing, signage, placement, promotions, sales training)
* Partner Sr. Buyer in creating promotional and pricing plans to achieve financial goals
* Utilize product positioning and key messaging for new and existing product packaging
* Compose features and benefits to share with support partners for signage, packaging, and training
* Execute internal/field communication on product launches
* Evaluate performance to identify new opportunities. (product, promotions, in-store and execution)
**Position Requirements**
* 2+ years in a retail buying setting
* 4 year college degree, preferably in business, marketing or merchandising
* Project management and organizational skills
* Problem solving and self-starter skills
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Proficient in MS Office application
* Requirements for this role are prioritization, collaboration and execution
