Application Support Engineer

Provide hands-on support for Electronic trading systems with responsibility for application support, system monitoring, problem escalation, responding to system related user queries, level-1 database support as well as deployment of releases to test and production systems.
Tradeweb Technology jobs are fully remote. The Tradeweb Technology hub is located in our Jersey City office which can be used for team meetings and collaboration efforts. There may be days where travel to the Jersey City office is recommended for organizational off-sites.
Job Responsibilities
Provide computer system support and administration, including hands-on support for Electronic trading systems with responsibility for application support, system monitoring, problem escalation, responding to system related user queries, level-1 database support as well as deployment of releases to test and production systems.
Deploy and support complex in-house & 3rd party applications.
Proactively manage business critical real-time trading systems in order to identify issues and potential problem areas.
Interact with various internal IT support functions, Development, Quality Assurance, Operations and external 3rd party vendors to troubleshoot and resolve problems.
Actively identify incidents and as necessary manage the incident resolution process to provide service recovery and manage client communications and expectations in respect to incident resolution.
Ensure compliance with departmental policies (i.e. change management, IT security standards, release management, incident management). Work with all parties to provide services to agreed SLA’s. Work through Annual Disaster Recovery testing and BCP planning
This position may have responsibilities related to Dealerweb’s compliance with SEC Regulation SCI. This requires the person in this role to understand and comply with the requirements of Regulation SCI relevant to his or her position, as well as Dealerweb’s policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a directly related field
Two (2) years of related technical experience including Python, PERL, UNIX and SQL
Experience supporting electronic trading platforms utilizing Windows and scripting skills
Experience working on Real time trading systems
Demonstrated problem solving, planning and analytical skills.
Experience managing client queries and problems
Demonstrated communications skills and ability to interact and influence at all levels within the organization as well as with clients
Demonstrated documentation skills
Experience with Microsoft Windows and Workstation
Demonstrated basic knowledge of Network elements
Demonstrated scripting skills, including Python, PERL and Shell
RDBMS methodology and SQL scripting
Experience with MS SQL Server
Managing, owning and delivering high quality projects to objectives and within time scales
Working knowledge of SDLC, application integration and testing
Experience with Java
C++ experience in a Microsoft Windows development environment, utilizing object-oriented programming techniques
Database design and development utilizing SQL and relational database techniques

The current pay range for this role if performed in the city of New York is currently $100,000 to $160,000 per year, based on a regular, full-time schedule. The amount of pay offered will be determined by a number of factors, including but not limited to qualifications, market data, geographic location, and internal guidelines.
