LINUX SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR

WHAT WE WANT

FriendFinder Networks is looking for a Senior Linux Systems Administrator/SRE who will be responsible for availability, installation, configuration, provisioning, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software. You will respond to trouble tickets and will be required to communicate your progress, monitor automations and internal customers; install new servers, rebuild existing servers, and configure hardware, peripherals, services, and settings in accordance with operational requirements. You have to document, update and maintain installation and configuration procedures on the Wiki, and will contribute and maintain best practices documentation for operations, security, and capital efficiency. Your contributions will ensure our systems will provide our customers the best possible user experience for everyone who visits our web sites 24 hours a day, every day of the year, all over the world.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Ensure proper security, monitoring, alerting and reporting for the infrastructure

Work with the NOC and DC Tech teams, using monitoring and other tools to ensure the integrity and availability of our hardware, server resources, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups

Work with the incident team to diagnose and recover from hardware or software failures working with or as the Incident Commander to coordinate and communicate with our internal customers

Assist project teams with technical issues in the planning phase of sites or project development efforts

Gather system requirements and support several project teams in evolving, testing and rolling-out new products and services, then transitioning the site or product to post launch operations activities throughout life of the product or service

Work with the R&D team and other systems engineers to make improvements

Document processes and procedures and follow a formal change management procedure

WHAT YOU MUST HAVE

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and/or equivalent work experience

10+ years’ experience administering Linux required or equivalent work experience

Git largescale configuration management

Experience with Apache, nginx, or other high volume web servers

Experience with high volume mail servers

Experience with proxies / reverse proxies, such as ha-proxy, squid, varnish

Experience with monitoring tools, e.g. graphana, prometheus, or other large scale graphing solution

Experience with kickstart or jumpstart maintenance and implementation

Experience with load balancers

Experience in analysis and system performance tuning

Experience in Python, Perl, or Shell Scripting, with experience implementing automation and monitoring using shell scripting and other related tools

You must be comfortable with adult content

You must be at least 21 years old

WHAT IS PREFERABLE TO HAVE

Knowledge of protocols such as DNS, HTTP, SMTP, SNMP, TLS, ACME, OAUTH2

Knowledge of OSI model

Knowledge of the challenges in a very large multifaceted global environment

Logging solutions such as opensearch/ELK, sumologic/splunk, syslog, etc.

Comfortable with new technologiessuch as containers/Docker and container orchestration such as . CICD

Ability to implement automation and monitoring using shell scripting and other related tools

WHAT YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO DEMONSTRATE

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Critical thinking skills in a complex IT environment to analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve problems without direction

Outstanding organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines

High degree of honesty and integrity

Team-player, positive attitude, flexibility,
