Job Description Salary: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 Annually Location : 10 Park Plaza Suite 2150 Boston, MA Job Type: Full-Time Remote Employment: Flexible/Hybrid Job Number: 00091 Department: Finance and Operations Opening Date: 02/20/2024 Description The Central Transportation Planning Staff of the Boston Region Metropolitan Planning Organization seeks a Finance Coordinator to serve a critical role on the Finance and Operations team, supporting the agency's accounting and financial operations. The Finance Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day processing of financial transactions-predominantly in the areas of invoicing, receivables, and payables-through interactions with internal staff and external vendors. The Finance Coordinator works closely with members of the Finance and Operations team to ensure the agency's financial management is carried out with professionalism, accuracy, timeliness, and excellent customer service. Responsibilities Manages accounts payable efforts through purchase orders, vendor invoices, and account reconciliation Prepares reports to generate client invoices Processes employee expense reimbursements Maintains accurate and timely project information in the financial management system (Deltek Vision) Assists staff with various financial tracking and reporting activities, providing information, guidance, and support Assists the finance staff on contract development, extensions, amendments, and obtaining prior approvals from the clients Assists with procurement by ensuring that the agency meets the requirements of M.G.L. Required Associate degree in finance or accounting Minimum of two years of related experience in finance or accounting (a bachelor's degree may count towards experience) Excellent organizational skills, ability to multitask, and an attention to detail Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite programs, with a strong command of Excel Strong problem-solving skills, knowledge of basic accounting principles, documentation skills, and research and resolution skills Ability to effectively communicate with a variety of audiences High level of discretion with confidential materials Preferred Experience working with Asana or other related project management software Proficient with Deltek Vision or other financial management software Physical Requirements Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer Compensation and Benefits This is a full-time position, and the starting salary range is $60,000-$70,000 annually, contingent upon qualifications and experience. Additional Information The Central Transportation Planning Staff of the Boston Region Metropolitan Planning Organization is a public agency made up of a passionate group of transportation planners, analysts, modelers, programmers, and engineers working to address the Boston region's transportation challenges. The agency's deep transportation knowledge is an essential asset to the Massachusetts Department of Transportation, the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA), regional transit authorities, cities and towns within the region, as well as other agencies and stakeholders. The agency has a hybrid schedule, combining time in the office with remote work. Employees must reside within a commutable distance from the Central Transportation Planning Staff's office, which is located in downtown Boston, in a transit-oriented and bicycle-friendly area.
