As a Senior Automotive Cybersecurity Architect, you will lead hardware and software engineers and architects to ensure the security and resilience of automotive systems and connected vehicles. You will define and implement robust cybersecurity reference architectures and implementations, champion their proper re-use within project teams, and continually evolve them as the vulnerability and technology landscape evolves. This position works within the Cybersecurity Center of Excellence and collaborates with global project and platform development teams.
Your Team
This role will report functionally to the Center of Excellence Cybersecurity Technology Office. As a Senior Automotive Cybersecurity Architect, you will identify, manage, and sustain the design and implementation of robust cybersecurity reference architectures. You will participate in the ISO 21434 lifecycle and conduct risk assessments to evaluate the impact of vulnerabilities and champion various mitigation strategies. You will also collaborate closely with other senior leaders and stakeholders to align cybersecurity strategies with business objectives.
What You Will Do
Lead the design and implementation of comprehensive cybersecurity architectures and strategies for automotive systems, adhering to industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and emerging trends.
Lead the validation of those architectures and assist in evolving those architectures.
Lead cross-functional teams to define and establish security requirements, integrating cybersecurity measures throughout the development lifecycle.
Conduct thorough threat modeling, risk assessments, and vulnerability analysis to identify potential security risks and develop effective mitigation strategies.
Continually evolve your knowledge base of secure communication protocols, access control mechanisms, encryption solutions, and intrusion detection systems within automotive systems.
Continually evolve your knowledge base of the latest advancements in cybersecurity technologies, industry regulations, and emerging threats, and provide thought leadership and guidance to address complex challenges.
What You Need
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a relevant technical discipline.
8 years of experience designing and implementing ECU-level features and components, AUTOSAR, Android Auto, CAN, I2C, etc.
3 years of experience with in-vehicle automotive cybersecurity design and implementation including Secure Boot, HSM/SHE, Hypervisors, TEEs, etc.
Deep understanding of network protocols, software architectures, and various cybersecurity technologies and methodologies, such as encryption, PKI, hardware security modules, etc.
Experience with industry standards and frameworks (e.g., ISO 21434, SAE J3061, ISO 27001).
Certification in Secure Coding Practices, CASE (Certified Automotive Cybersecurity Engineer), ISO 21434, etc.
Awareness of threat modeling, risk assessment methodologies, vulnerability analysis, and security incident response.
Team-based problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to assess complex security challenges using structured methodologies.
What is Nice to Have
Masters or PhD in Engineering or Computer Science with an emphasis on Automotive Cybersecurity.
In-depth knowledge of emerging technologies in the automotive industry, such as autonomous vehicles and connected car platforms.
Be willing to improve your knowledge of cybersecurity continually
