LPN Responsibilities:
Provide bedside care to patients including personal hygiene maintenance
Record the patients vital signs (including blood pressure, pulse, and respiratory rate)
Collect patients health information
Relay information between patients, registered nurses, and physicians
Give oral medications and injections to patients
Test a patients blood sugar levels
Urinary catheter insertion and care
Assist patients with personal hygiene
Monitor for changes in patients
Proper charting, documentation, and maintenance of patients medical records
Asks questions when in doubt for clarification by the Registered Nurse.
Acts as a role model for ancillary personnel.
Maintains the confidentiality of the patients clinical records.
LPN Requirements:
Current LPN license in State.
Up to date first aid and CPR certification.
At least one year of experience as a LPN in a Long Term Care setting preferred.
Knowledge of Matrixcare preferred.
