Job Description
Purpose of Position:
Under the direction of the Chief of Hospital Police, the Systems Project Leader will provide expert technical and project management expertise which resolve all information application issues and problems. This person must possess an understanding of security processes and public safety measures. The candidate must exhibit excellent communication and priority management skills when engaged with senior executives on key tactical and strategic initiatives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Maintain and update Lincoln Hospital/Affiliates Employee ID Card System database.
2. Continuously work with security affiliated vendors and internal hospital personnel to install/maintain security equipment campus wide, including any remote satellite facilities, thus upholding safety throughout the hospital.
3. Utilize project management skills to oversee the successful implementation/installation of the following: Physical Security Systems, Emergency repair to Electronic Locking Systems, Access Control, Alarm/Duress Systems, Security Management Software, Network Cameras/CCT, and Infant Protection Systems.
4. Ensures all digital recordings are stored in accordance with hospital security best practices and made available for all police investigations/inquiries.
5. Participates in budgetary planning, purchase order requests or fulfillments, plus review of operating costs related to all hospital security equipment and software.
6. Communicates with other departments such as account payables, material management, and legal department for purchases and service contracts.
7. Assists with various internal investigations and audits via utilization of documents and electronic evidence.
8. Conducts Inventory Audits of various security related equipment.
9. Supports in monitoring the environmental needs of the Hospital Police Department to ensure all issues are addressed/ replaced/ or repaired timely.
10. Participates in the development, implementation, and maintenance of departmental policies and procedures related to security.
11. Evaluates systems for compliance with security requirements: applying risk analysis methodologies; making recommendations regarding alternate solutions; and implementing corrective action, when necessary.
12. Maintain, drive, supervise and implement robust technical standards, systems and processes.
13. Influence technology strategies and decisions with a high-level of expertise and knowledge.
14. Provide direction and support to ensure compliance with relevant legislative specifications and standards.
15. Lead a team of staff reviewing product effectiveness, initiatives and address training needs when necessary.
16. Coordinate the regular testing of products to address faults, and provide evaluations in order to improve them.
17. Act as a key contact with customers who have technical issues. 18. Performs additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
A Baccalaureate degree in mathematics, business administration, accounting or similar field,
plus five (5) years of full-time paid experience in data processing, three (3) years of which
shall have been in the capacity of a systems analyst and one (1) of which shall have been in a
lead or supervisory capacity; and
2. Broad knowledge of computer and communications hardware capabilities, programming
languages, E.D.P. applications, systems analysis methodology, data management and
information retrieval technique; or
3. An equivalent combination of education and experience.
