We’re seeking a Chief Estimator with a focus on concrete and masonry, particularly in the NYC area, to join our team. We are looking for a driven and experienced individual to play a key role in our growing company.
Responsibilities:
Interpret Structural, Architectural, and MEP drawings to perform quantity takeoffs using takeoff software.
Read and interpret concrete specifications and Scope of Work (SOW) documents for the bidding process.
Receive, analyze, review, and track all bid package exhibits.
Maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure up-to-date pricing for materials.
Attend pre-bid meetings as required and track all documents throughout the bid process.
Prepare bid estimates, bid documents, construction schedules, and material takeoffs.
Analyze new drawings to identify changes in contract documents.
Qualifications/Skills:
Strong proficiency in estimating software for performing takeoffs.
Advanced Excel skills to create complex worksheets, along with proficiency in other Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints and drawings accurately.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience and Education:
Concrete construction estimating experience is essential. Experience working with concrete structures from Mid to superstructure is preferred.
