Softball Operations Specialist

Position Summary Under general supervision of the Head Softball Coach, this position supports and enhances the mission of the San Diego State University Athletic Department. This position provides a variety of operational administrative, technical, and analytical duties of limited to moderate complexity for the NCAA Division I Softball program. The Softball Operations Specialist has operational responsibility in all administrative support and on-field coaching aspects of the NCAA Division I Softball program. The Softball Operations Specialist will coordinate the preparation and operation of daily practices including practice plans and post-practice review. The Softball Operations Specialist will prepare coaches with data for player meetings with the breakdown of practice and game film and help prepare scouting reports. The Softball Operations Specialist will manage selected game day duties as assigned by the coaches for both home and away games.
This is a full-time (1.0 time-base), benefits eligible, temporary position anticipated to end on August 31, 2025 with the possibility of reappointment. This position is designated as exempt under FLSA and is not eligible for overtime compensation. Standard SDSU work hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but may vary based on operational needs.
The individual hired into this role will work on campus at SDSU in San Diego.
Education and Experience
Entry to this classification requires general knowledge and skills in the applicable administrative and/or program field with a foundational knowledge of public administration principles, practices, and methods. This foundation would normally be obtained through a bachelor's degree and/or equivalent training and administrative work experience involving study, analysis, and/or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices, or programs.

Microsoft Office, Gmail, Synergy software, ARMS/Teamworks
Ability to train others on new skills and procedures and provide lead work direction
Ability to travel to competitions
Familiarity with NCAA rules and regulations of Division I Softball
Licenses/Certifications Required
Valid California Driver's License or the ability to obtain one within 10 days of hire.
