Job Description
Now looking to build our Power Scholars team for the Summer of 2024! Looking for a motivated director candidate looking to make an impact this summer!
Our Power Scholars Program Director will work:
- June 24th-July 31st
- Monday-Friday
- 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Under the supervision of the Behavioral Specialist, the Program Director of Power Scholars is responsible for the daily operation of Enrichment and Academic Achievement Gap programming during the Power Scholars summer program held annually in partnership with Brockton Public Schools. The Program Director will supervise Enrichment staff and will work as part of a staff team in enrichment, youth engagement in special events and partnerships. The Program Director will represent the Old Colony Y in a positive, professional manner, resulting in friendly, convenient, and courteous service. The Program Director will uphold the employee code of conduct and will ensure that all areas of the job responsibilities reflect the mission of the Old Colony Y, and the regulating agency. This person will display and encourage the character traits of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility, as well as the values of the Developmental Assets consistent with the Old Colony Y.
Program/Department Responsibilities
Oversee all components of Old Colony Y’s summer Academic Achievement Gap programming
in partnership with local school districts
Represent the Old Colony Y in the Brockton community for Power Scholars programming
and other YMCA initiatives
Recruit, develop, and train Enrichment Instructors for all summer programs
in accordance with positive youth development and child safety guidelines
Maintain master calendar of Power Scholars events and ensure
dissemination to partner agencies and families
Refer youth and assist families in accessing wraparound resources of OCY and community
Serve as a liaison between families/youth, programming staff, and all
partner agencies and school districts to ensure a high level of communication
Maintain accurate records regarding youth/families, contacts, and files in partnership with
supervisor to ensure accurate reporting for all grants and contracts as well as incident
reports, evaluations, etc.

Requirements
Education/Experience/Physical requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Social Services, Human Services, or Related Field
3-5 years of experience working with youth and families, program development,
and/or community development
Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint
Additional skills should include correct grammar, punctuation, spelling and business writing
Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Must be able to sit down, stand up, walk up and down stairs and bend over during the
course of the day.
Must be an insured and licensed driver able to travel for occasional home visits,
transportation of clients, and provider meetings, as well as able to pass pre-placement drug
