Import Inventory Specialist

We are adding an Import Inventory Specialist to our team! Experience in customs and import logistics is a HUGE plus!
This role is remote but you MUST live near the Sacramento, CA area to qualify.
Purchasing Planning
Support Logistics Manager in efforts to evaluate inventory flow and needs, set order quantities and communicate with overseas vendor weekly.
Work with the Logistics Team to monitor inventory need forecasts weekly, monthly and annual needs of our customer based on 2-3-month supply-line. And, to identify necessary changes.
Inventory Management/ Shipping & Transport
Inventory management responsibilities of numerous customers
Monitory daily inventory levels, inbound & outbound of 13 Taraca DC s, 24 Home Depot DCs and other recurring customer order programs and adjust as necessary.
Maintain a spreadsheet that monitors weekly flow of inventory in/ out, and used for count discrepancy resolution and forecasting.
Manage all trucking and rail related issues and last minute changes required.
Oversee movement of secondary warehouses, what is where, for how long, and why.
Support annual inventory audit as necessary.
Support port related issues as they arise for free time, missing and damaged product.
Alert Operations Specialist of all detail if claims need to be filed.
Customer Service
Support customer product damage complaints.
Screen & Review end user customer complaints for Marketing Director & report out issues to Marketing Director to handle any QC issues such as;
late arrival/departure, short deliveries, mis-shipped product, incorrect invoicing, costing, and performance.
Other
Assist Operations Manager with:
Quarterly review of inventory to ensure proper coverage of goods in warehouses and HD-DCs.
Claim filing for damaged product, shortages, etc.
Working with insurance company and/or freight broker to file and settle claims.
Collect supporting documents and data to back up claims.
Observe deadlines for different stages of claim processes.
