About the Role
The Executive Director for Live Business is a key leadership role focused on the strategic and operational management of the company's commercial live events. The successful candidate will be responsible for running the US Live Business, including oversight of budget, events production, audience and promotion, and programming operations. This involves providing strategic and analytical support to operate and expand the production portfolio, managing day-to-day planning, budgeting, and production of live events, and partnering with key stakeholders across the organization. The role demands a highly strategic and collaborative approach, with a strong emphasis on attention to detail, creative problem-solving, proactive communication, and nimble project management. Extensive experience in commercial events, particularly within the Washington, DC market, is essential.Candidates for this position should have 10-15 years of experience in high-scale event planning and production, preferably within a news, political, media, or branded content-creation industry, and must have a proven track record of managing strategy for commercial events and maximizing revenue. The role requires impeccable judgment, problem-solving skills, and a deep understanding of the D.C ecosystem, including vendors, venues, and VIP audiences. Excellent organizational, project management, and communication skills are essential, as is the ability to work in a dynamic, collaborative environment and manage multiple events. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, a problem solver, and will embody the company's values of being a relentless contributor, disruptor, collaborator, talent cultivator, and DEI steward.
